Any big time movies you’ve never gotten around to watching, or refuse to watch for some reason? I’ve never seen Titanic, Pretty Woman, or The Notebook to name a few. No real reason why, other than I know how the Titanic winds up, I don’t like Julia Roberts and just never got around to The Notebook.

I’ve never seen any Lord of the Rings movies or Avatar. I didn’t see the original Jurassic Park until last year.

Same.  Throw in all the Harry Potter bullshit, and any superhero movie except for the first Iron Man.

I've also never seen The Notebook, if that qualifies.

Never seen any of the Fast and Furious or Expendables movies. Never saw any of the Conan movies. I think I may have watched the first Transformers movie but not sure.

Im guessing that if you have not seen Potter, LOR or Titanic. You utilize your free time doing other things.

No way that one who enjoys the cinema has not seen those movies

Or maybe those folks chose to watch other movies.

But I have seen LOR.

I also haven’t watched any Godfather movie start to finish. Seen parts here and there. Don’t like the genre in general. I get why people like them, but not my cup of tea.

Forrest Gump and Shawshank Redemption. Fuck those movies.

For not seeing Shawshank, you should probably fuck your own face.  Forrest Gump is more optional.

You’re pretty devoid of all exposure to any cultural relevance correct?

pretty much. i find myself mostly nonplussed at 4 out of 5 "blockbuster" movies that i watch, especially those in some kind of paint by numbers franchise like fast and the furious or the comic book movies. plenary of my favorite movies are right down the middle- bull durham, pulp fiction, the big lebowski, no country for old men- but still, i find myself more or less disinterested in a lot of the movies that most people consider must-see, or classic movies. especially if it's a recent big budget movie. i legit have no idea the last time i saw a movie in theaters. it's been years and years. the last time i remember going to the theater was to see despicable bosses, so maybe whenever that came out was the last time. it's been forever.

The entire LOTR series, but I did watch the 1978 Ralph Bakshi animated version when it was in theaters and loved it.

Harry Potter series

Jurassic Park sequels

Transformers sequels

The Notebook (wtf is that?)

The only one of those I've seen is Slumdog and I enjoyed it very much.  It's a great story.

I feel like most people have seen it once.  And once is enough.

Dude.  Yes you do need to remedy that.

I think the issue is that it's not something that comes to mind when I'm wondering "hey what would be fun to watch tonight?"

Yes.

Green Book. Argo. Million Dollar Baby

Birdman is more artistic in nature so the audience that would appreciate it is limited. Same with Shape of Water. But those 3 are legit very good movies.

Green Book I remember it was around this time of year when it came out. I was dragged to it by my wife, sister in law, and mother in law and was in a horrible mood that day. I wanted to be anywhere but that theater when we got there and knew nothing about the movie. Then saw the movie and it completely changed my mood.

I loved Green Book and the protagonist letting his musical hair down at the juke joint after leaving the snobs at the country club. What a fine odyssey for an odd couple to find common ground.

I watched Titanic and The Notebook for the first time this year. Both were average. Not bad but definitely not great. Pretty Woman is on my list to watch as well.
