I think we took OU's best shot too. A couple guys hitting 3s they normally don't hit.

I like the ball in Rice's hands in the clutch. He's so crafty and knows how to get to the line.

That move to get the foul on the three pointer to tie the game was clutch as fuck.

Thank goodness ugly wins count as wins, cause that was fucking ugly. But I'll take it and sooner can fuck themselves

Not sure it was ugly. It was a grind like every Big 12 game is going to be.

Nice to see clutch FTs down the stretch. Winning in Norman is not easy. Great win!

It isn't, which is why is it is cool we have won there four straight times.

For way too long it seemed like one of those games when an inferior OU team beats us because of guys playing over their heads and us stumbling around just enough to lose. But then...Mr. Rice to the rescue with some tremendously smart, skilled play down the stretch. Great to get that W.

Clutch FT shooting and veteran leadership wins close games on the road. 9-9 from the line, Carr making a clutch shot, and Allen coming up with rebounds and a needed layup off an offensive rebound.

Exactly. Their players took turns. First it was Sherfield making everything in the 1st half, then it was Groves making 5 3's in the 2nd half, then it was Hill making 3's and volleyball blocked the ball for another basket.

Terry really did some good things in this game with adjustments. OU started hitting those 3s because they were putting Disu in screens and he's not mobile enough on the perimeter.

He wisely went to Bishop and even Cunningham for some minutes at the 5. This was a well coached game for Terry.

timmy fucking allen.

Was this the first game where Texas consistently put Allen on the low block?

I've never understood why we don't do this more. Allen at the 3 is a mismatch for other teams. He can bully ball down there. Allen should get the ball 10-15 times a game in the low block.

That was Allen's guy not Disu.

They were putting Disu in screens and he was getting caught in no-man's land where other players were having to help off their man on rotations.

Bishop is a substantially better perimeter defender when teams have players like Tanner Groves where they like to run action with their bigs that extended.

Agree.  He's Adrian Dantley lite.

our ability to score at every level gives me so much hope for the postseason. we have multiple guys who i totally trust shooting from 6 ft, 12 ft, 15-18 ft, 3-point range, etc. so tough to defend a team that can hit shots from all over. bill self's KU teams usually fit this mold, and their record speaks for itself.

Glad to pull out the road win but that game was nearly unwatchable because of the refs.  I get letting them play but damn they turned it into slugfest which I hate in a basketball game.

The encouraging thing is Texas is winning and Hunter is playing nowhere capable to the level he's able to.

Yeah, he was a 13.1 ppg guy at Iowa State.  He's currently averaging 10.8 ppg and he's been under that number for 7 straight games.  He's averaging 3.1 assists per game, and was at 4.8 assists last year.  That said, he's seeing a little less court time this year, too.  There's room to grow for sure.
