So, we all died in this severe weather outbreak, right?

Died, no, but we had no power for the last 4 hours in my neighborhood which sucked.  Not just no power but no cell service/internet/texting available right when the tornado sirens were going off up here in DFW which for the first time in the 15 years I have been in this house I felt totally disconnected from the world when I really wanted to get some weather news.  I guess I need to invest in some emergency radio thingy for the next time this happens.

Everyone should have 2. One for the house and one for the vehicle. Cost less than a good case of beer.

Little more than 0.5" yesterday. Good. Still amazed at how much more rain Dallas has been getting than us. Seems like the past month or two they've been getting Houston-style big rain events.

So does this mean Ann Margaret's not coming?

Or that we will get our own Chinese weather balloons that we can watch get shot down off of Galveston or Corpus?

Maybe it'll be that moment where my wife decides I'm right and we are moving out of the state.

does that mean lots of rain for the beginning of spring break?

Posted in the winter weather thread, but relevant here too.

NOAA has declared an end to the La Nina that has persisted since Fall 2020. Oceanic water temps are currently considered "neutral." ~60% chance of an El Nino starting up by the Fall.

Might not be 1,000 degrees and bone dry all Summer.

El Nino?  That's Spanish for "The Nino", correct?

We had a nice thunderstorm in Hewitt/Woodway area last night.  Not sure how much it rained, or how long, as I had had some beers, and a vodka drinks, and a whiskey nightcap.

cool your jets.  They expect a line of storms to come through tonight.  Thus, I expect no fewer than 186 phone calls from Austin telling me to be prepared and to take shelter from this dangerous storm.  In English, Spanish, and maybe Polish.

The forecasts from all the different stations are all over the place, and the 5-7 day precip has us right on the edge (as fucking usual).

My prediction is that this line comes through Austin, we get lots of thunder, 0.1" of rain and call it a day.

Better than Austin, where it might be hailstones falling on your head or homeless people throwing real stones at you to steal your shit.

If I recall correctly, "Morning Mist and Evening Storms" was a quite popular softcore porn series on Skinemax back in the day....

You dumbass, I ordered the pierogis!

Expand

Speaking of pierogi, there's a local shop called Ziggy's selling legit versions of that fine Polish dumpling.  They also have house-made sausages, other meats, cheeses, borscht, sauerkraut, all kinds of eastern European pantry staples, you name it.  Open Wed-Sun 10 AM - 4PM, on 183 in Leander.  Highly recommended if that's your thing.
