I'll fight every man who says this isn't the perfect action movie.  SO many great set pieces, with each successive one getting more intense and desperate.  The liquid metal CGI gets all the press (and holds up even today) but practical effects make this movie.  All the hits and punches actually hurt, unlike the dancing that passes as "fighting today."

And you're a soulless man if you didn't crack up at least a little bit at the end.

I used to play that opening over and over when I first got a home theater. Perfect for showing off your system with all the bass and localized sounds.

Tangent- the ILM doc series on D+ is great and worth the watch. Touches on this and the other groundbreaking effects.

I first saw this movie the last day of school my junior year in high school after skipping and going to Galveston to drink on the beach all day as was local tradition. A couple of friends worked at the AMC East/West theaters near Almeda Mall and we watched it on a screen with like 10 people and beer after they closed for the night.  One of the greatest days of my life.

I was about 12 when this movie and music video came out. I loved the movie, but didn’t know much about music yet. I watched MTV every night to catch this video with all the Terminator movie clips. Great memories. I fell in love with music that year because of it and never looked back.

Cool bit of trivia I just read on IMDB is that they originally wanted Michael Biehn as T-1000 but decided that would be too confusing for the audience.  That could have made a cool plot point where Skynet somehow captured him and got his dna in the future or something to reproduce.

As much as I love T2 it isn’t perfect. Almost perfect, but as David Allan Coe said, it needed another verse.

What’s missing? Nekkid Linda Hamilton that’s what. Also, Edward Furlong is a whiny little twit that is so annoying that you root a bit for the T1000 to decapitate him. No way he grows up to save humanity.

"Come with me if you want to live", what an awesome moment/line delivery that was.

Yep.  Almost as good as "You're one ugly motherfucker", "I ain't got time to bleed" or "If it bleeds, we can kill it."

I love that GnR song. Same thing in that I remember it being on in my youngin' days and we all thought it was the coolest thing.
