My two cents---you should turn it over to the Ransom Center.  Happy to help if you need it.  Maybe you don't.  You're not in it for the fame, but we'll get you paid as well.

I thought about contacting them as well. Do you have an "in" with them?

Yes, please donate it to The University of Texas.  My brothers and I recently helped my father (a Longhorn) donate his book about coins and related materials to UT.  Very cool to have them looking after that stuff.  A couple of years ago I donated over 300 of my photos of Houston's 5th Ward and graffiti/street art to UH (where my brother works) permanent collections.  I wish I could have given them to UT, but honestly, UH was the right place for them.

Also, I assume that the photos I gave to you to post would be part of the package going to be archived?

I reckon I will head over to the forum and post a few flicks...

Excellent work man.

How long before somebody posts up the Waco Christmas lights story or something from the worst sequel experiences MSpaint thread?

Or the classic cell phone flop out.

Yes.  There or the Briscoe center.  I’m happy to help.  Deep connections.  Nothing for me other than a couple of fancy dinners.   But stewardship and proper handling is worth noting.

So ... my FB page will not be archived. Only that which is on my forum will be preserved. I mean, who knows how long FB will be around?  As far as your stuff, it's going to take me awhile (like maybe never) to get things copied from FB to the new place. It would be VERY helpful if you could post it yourself.  That photo of that abandoned church in South Texas, for example, could definitely go in the "Beautiful Texas" forum.  You've got a ton of shots that could go in there, actually.

We're speaking to history!

Please don’t let any of your great work be facilitated by YGIFS / Lobo / The Cruiser. Please.

Already made a post. I’ll need to touch up one of the old photos before posting it along with some context.

there's only one story in the state of texas worthy of being told:

Really thought this was going to be the Waco Christmas lights story.

For somebody who has me on ignore...you make a shitton of references.  try actual 'ignore'-not your junior high version, it's good for mental wellness in 2023.

Hornius, I'm PM'ing you my contact info.  There is also a State of Texas archivist you should speak with, though their "collections" get markedly less foot traffic than the Ransom or Briscoe.  But the idea is first to have somebody/entity that appreciates this work/archive, then somebody who can preserve it/digitize it/catalog it/etc., and then finally have it be accessible to the public in a form and fashion you would like in perpetuity.  And the photography would also be well looked after.  Happy to help and then get out of the way.

I love this, and I have enjoyed many posts from the Twitter account. Texas has such a rich and complex history, and so many different voices. It's fitting that the great state of Texas is honored in a bold and ambitious undertaking such as this.

This is the kind of good stuff that the internet was truly made for.

Well, that, and porn.

Real shame about the rules because I have an awesome story about that time the stupid son of a bitch @futureman and the mean son of a bitch @closetojumping were assfucking some slutty nuns at the Alamo while  socialist marxist Robert Francis O'Rourke and neonazi cuck fascist Ted Cruz were gay aborting babies. But I guess that's too good for your readers.

Funny stuff, but a bit over the top.  I would almost allow it, though, because of the Futureman diss.  😉

@Ghost of LL Didn’t you get drunk with like half TOS and fall in a campfire once?  Put that in there.

Wait, I wanna hear the rest of this story.  You could also fill up a chapter(s) on the myriad and woefully offensive ways in which most of us got banned from hornfans.

And I'm still waiting for the movie version of "Forged of a Hotter Fire."  I have a copy of that somewhere or I gave it to Half Price Books.

This new project of Hornius looks more promising, however.

Can we limit the number of times Brisket is allowed to mention Susanna Hoffs?

The event happened in Houston, it counts, you sonofabitch!

Also, I'm busy crafting the most Texas story ever.  It may or may not be true, but it will involve a rattlesnake, a close encounter with a stingaree, Willie Nelson, Earl Campbell, a sex scene with Farrah Fawcett, and chili.  I have some dots to connect, but I think I can get it done.

I think future generations would be benefited from your tales of super intelligent hill country coyotes as well

Will work that in.  I mean, Susanna Hoffs hugging me will be right in the middle of the story, like the free space on a bingo card, duh.....but the other elements have to get in there to make it truly Texas.

There will also be tales of escapades along the Rio Grande, drunken beach hijinks at 16 mile road, old but very comfortable boots, and expressions like "useless as tits on a boar hog."  And the coyote thing.

That is right - Worst Sexual Experience, in MS Paint

damnitall - just saw that was already mentioned - so how about the history of FitLump

Don't bother with a state archive, most of her story will be covered in her Presidential Library & Museum.  I have to say the photography exhibit will take a rather abrupt turn in the 2010's.
