Kent, Kaluma, and Shedrick should be getting 85%+ of the 4/5 minutes. Hopefully Kaluma learned from his one year experience that KSU that he's better as a role player than a high usage primary ball handler.

K-State's entire season was fucked when Tomlin was suspended. That completely changed roles on their team and forced guys like Kaluma to be more high usage.

I thought it was 5? Was he not on the 2008 team?

Oh, and he has the record for most points, which is awesome.

He had just finished his rookie year when the summer 08 Olympics rolled around, so they probably finalized the roster the year before when he was still at Texas or before his rookie season started.

Ah, that makes sense. POS rep

Can't believe we've seen these guys in 4 Olympics and they're still dominating in their 30s. Incredible to watch, especially when most are at the tail end of their career.

Bron

Durant

Davis

But they're still so talented they could go another 5 seasons, barring injuries. I think only LeBron would have to retire within the next 2 season. They have all had incredible careers. Tatum, even though Kerr benched him, will continue to get better, and Booker is basically just beginning.

1) LeBron (39.5) has 3 Gold 🥇🥇🥇 (‘08, ‘12, ‘24)

2) KD (35.8) has 4 Gold 🥇🥇🥇🥇

3) Davis (31)  has 2 Gold🥇🥇 (‘12 & ‘24)

We have won 5 Gold 🥇s in a row, so it’s not like LeBron lost one. I just think that LeBron opted out once or twice because he was going to the finals every fucking year.

What I mean is regardless of who has how many gold, they're still dominating despite their age. We still own when everyone is clicking. Seeing LeBron with gray in his beard and making a power dunk on much younger Frenchmen was cool af.

4-star PG Kingston Flemings
INTEL: Kingston Flemings is On3’s No. 1 ranked point guard in the 2025 class. The San Antonio (TX) Brennan High PG has three upcoming official visit dates set. Flemings will go see Houston on 8/31, Texas on 9/6, and Gonzaga on 10/4. Gonzaga has not offered yet, I am told, they want him to come to campus before they extend the offer. Houston will get the first official, a source close to recruitment tells me that they would be surprised if Flemings did not end up committing to the Cougars. Flemings has told me that he wants to sign during the Early Signing Period. A source close to the recruitment told me they would not be surprised to see Flemings go through and take all his visits.

Texas Hoops Recruiting In Focus: 2025 official visits

The Texas Longhorns basketball staff is set to host at least five official visitors in the 2025 cycle in September, beginning with a 5-star shooting guard this weekend.

OTF takes a look at the three prospects expected to make official visits with a high school class of two or three expected in the 2025 class.

Isiah Harwell, SG, Mount Pleasant (Utah) Wasatch Academy - August 31- September 2

The 6-6, 200 pound shooting guard will make an official visit to Texas this weekend. Harwell also has Houston, Gonzaga and California amont the top four. The Cougars have been confident here for a while, and Gonzaga believes they have a legit shot. California is also confident due to a strong family connection on the Bears staff.

The 5-star prospect missed most of the last year with an ACL injury.

Kingston Flemings, PG, San Antonio (Texas) Brennan - September 6-8

The 6-3, 175 pound point guard is ranked as one of the top 25 prospect in the 2025 cycle. He's been on campus a number of times during his recruitment. Flemings is scheduled to make at least four official visits. Texas will host September 6-8, Texas Tech September 10-12, Houston next month and Gonzaga possibly in early October.

The Longhorns offered Flemings in late May of 2023.

Koa Peat, PF, Gilbert (Az.) Perry - September 29-30

Peat, 6-8 and 230 pounds, has been a top target for Texas in the 2025 class since Rodney Terry offered in late May of 2021. Terry has long standing connections to people close to the 5-star's recruitment.

Peat made an official visit to Houston in early June, and the Cougars have been considered the favorite by some late in the spring and summer. The next three official visits will tell the story in this recruitment if Houston can hold on and close. Texas receives an official visit September 29-30, which follows a Michigan OV the first weekend in September. North Carolina is on the books for November 10, the closest to signing day.

Peat, like Tre Johnson, will make two official visits to Texas prior to making a decision. He made an official visit in late September of 2023 initially.

John Clark, PF, Houston (Texas) Link Academy - September 13-15

Clark plays for T.J. Ford Elite on the AAU circuit. The 6-9, 215 pounder transferred from Klein Cain to Link Academy for his senior season. Clark has yet to release all of his official visit dates, but is expected to visit Texas A&M this weekend, Houston September 7-9 and Texas September 13-15. Kansas and possibly Ohio State are also in the mix for the Houston area skilled forward.

Clark is considered one of the top 50 prospects in the country.

Shelton Henderson, SF, Houston (Texas) Bellaire - September 28-30

Henderson plays for JL3 Elite on the AAU circuit, leading many to believe Duke will ultimately win out if the Blue Devils make a final push. Houston, Texas and Louisville are also in the mix. The Longhorns are set to host Henderson the last weekend of September.

Texas official visit exceeds expectations for 5-star PG Kingston Flemings

Quote

Five-star point guard Kingston Flemings made the trek up I-35 last weekend for his official visit to Texas. The San Antonio Brennan product was hosted by Texas point guard Jordan Pope and forward Devon Pryor.

"It went great actually," Kingston's father, Dee, told Horns247. "They very well exceeded expectations. They showed everything. The campus is amazing obviously. The meeting with the academic adviser was great talking academics and course load and potential majors for Kingston. That really stood out to me. My wife loved the sports science department. The conversations we had in regards to player development, which is really huge for all of us, especially Kingston, were really good. And we love the staff, have always loved the staff. It was a great visit."

Texas assistant Brandon Chappell has headed up the efforts on Texas' end as the primary recruiter. He, head coach Rodney Terry, and the UT staff have worked to differentiate Texas from the rest of Flemings' top five of Arkansas, Houston, Gonzaga, and Texas Tech.

"I think the biggest thing for Texas is come in and be the next great Texas point guard," he said of the staff's message. "A system that's going to really let him step in and have an opportunity to take the reins and really just show who he is. And the fact that he'd be close to home and we'd get to enjoy that experience with him."

Flemings officially visited Texas Tech last year. Next he'll be at Houston on Sept. 28, Gonzaga on Oct. 5, and Arkansas on Oct. 19.

A decision could come in November, but nothing is set in stone.

"Quite possibly," Dee Flemings said of a November signing period decision. "I think that's what he's aiming for now. I know that he does kind of want to watch some of these teams play, so maybe that might push it back. But as of right now I think November signing period."

Does Flemings' father have a favorite at this juncture?

"I think they all really offer great situations," he said. "I think he picked a great top five. A lot of this is Kingston-driven. We give our opinions when he asks our opinions. But he picked his top five. I can see him fitting in to any of them and doing well. So basically it's going to come down to relationships for him. As much as we would like for him to be close to home, that would be great. But as close knit as a family we are we'll get on a plane or we'll get in a car. We'll be anywhere he's at. Once he leaves that's where he's at. I want a coaching staff that we feel great taking the reins and getting him to the next level."

He's one of my student's this year. The Brennan team has been fun to watch these past 3 years, and they should make another run.  All of my student's know I love college sports, but I'm not going to talk to him about his recruiting and decisions too much.  I wear a Michigan State Basketball shirt frequently on college days (brother went there and I'm looking at their Athletic Leadership Masters Program).  I need to get some Texas Bball shirts.

I get it’s Kentucky, it still surprises me that pope was able to come in and recruit at calipari level. I know basketball is all they have but damn, is Kentucky really that special?

They’ve got tradition, support, facilities, and crank out first round draft picks whether they’re good or (worst case) mediocre….

Bo Ogden is one of the hardest playing perimeter prospects in the national junior class. A 6-foot-5 wing out of Austin (Texas) St. Michael's Catholic, Ogden is the son of Texas Longhorns Special Assistant and former forward Chris Ogden.

Bo says his competitive makeup stems from his father's advice on how to approach the game.

"Playing hard and being competitive is what he talks about," Ogden said on his father. "That is a big part of my game and that is what he is about. That is the main thing. When it comes to my recruitment, he wants me to do what is best for me."

Ogden says Purdue, Tennessee, and Texas are the three schools he hears from the most. He discussed his thoughts on his three suitors with 247Sports:

IN HIS WORDS

Purdue: "They are recruiting me the hardest. I am probably going to take a visit there later this year. I talk to Paul Lusk the most. Matt Painter came to my school this month. I love him and have been building a great relationship with him. I want to get up on campus to see the school."

Tennessee: "I lived in Knoxville before and I love the city. I was a Volunteers fan for a while. They see me as a Dalton Knecht type of player. That is how they would use me."

Texas: "They are a great school with a great program. I love the coaches. They have great facilities and they are a top-tier program. I love Rodney Terry. He has known me for so long. He held me as a baby. He is a great guy."

LOOKING AHEAD

Ogden says he is unsure on a timeframe for his college decision. He wants to go through the process of being recruited but has not thought on when he plans to commit to a program.

Rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports, Ogden is ranked the No. 57 overall recruit in the national 2026 class.

I believe this is the front runner for "Glowing Remark of the Year".

Also, who was the last Texas coach with a kid who was a real prospect and not a walk-on/courtesy take?

Wtf? Seriously? What’s the situation with 2025 recruiting? How many spots? I saw the two top recruits coming in for a visit, plus Fleming. I scanned the top 100 and saw more Ole Miss commits than Texas. Is the situation better than it looks? Football and baseball have their act together. Would be nice to see basketball get fixed.

You should assume we have ~6-8 spots every year in basketball as does every team in the country. We've kinda touched on it in this thread but the way Rodney Terry manages the team they should either be going after 5*s that will actually play or guys who are ok with sitting for a year or two because we've gotten in trouble with getting guys ranked in the 50-150 range that expect playing time that RT isn't willing to give. Expect 2-3 high school guys and a lot of transfers every year.

Thought I remembered reading they want two slots for high school kids in the next class. Freaking out about basketball recruiting in October is unnecessary considering the impact of the portal on CBB.

I’m sure he’ll be a clear and present danger to opponents. No, no. I hope he plays without remorse. That’s it.

On executive orders, we will see the sum of all fears on the floor from our opponents. There will be a debt of honor paid on the glass and in the win column. It doesn’t matter if we fight  the bear and the dragon or the teeth of the tiger.  We will stay locked on while we are under attack against all enemies.
