I'm willing to say there's no person that has stepped foot in a bar, between the ages of 40 and 50, that doesn't know several Beyonce songs.

I’m not in that range but have been in many bars. I’m not saying I wouldn’t recognize her songs, but other than single ladies I don’t think I would know any of them were her. I’m not saying it’s bad, just saying her type of music has never been anything I’ve paid attention to or sought out. Not intended to be a brag or shock value, just a statement.

I just went through the top 10 songs on Beyoncé’s Spotify page and I don’t recognize any of them. None of them are particularly interesting or memorable. Just bland corporate music written by a committee.

Pretty sure it’s America’s taste that sucks and not mine.

Truth.

Pretty soon it’s all going to be written by AI though I doubt there will be much difference.

We clearly hang out in totally different types of bars.

yeah, you guys really are trying to out-"outoftoucholdwhiteguy pretending to know zero pop music as some sort of signaling your self-satisfaction and feeling superior" each other with a bit extra oomph today...

even though there's not a lot there in terms of my favs, if you really are not familiar with irreplaceable, crazy in love, halo, single ladies...or destiny's child's hits like independent women, say my name, jumpin' jumpin', survivor (wulaw's favorite all time song for fuck's sake and that dude is the ultimate dork), bills bills bills...then jesus christ, let me also introduce you to something called human interaction.

she has definitely used some of her financial success to grow her brand...

I’m fairly certain that she doesn’t sing “Halo”. I think that I can prove it with this…

When I was 25 I hung out at bars with chicks that I may be able to have sex with, but I'm sure your places had their merits

Interesting chart.

I guess all the disco of the mid- to late-70's is "soul" on this graph(?).

I don’t believe that “R&B” and “Soul” have ever been seen together at the same time.

I believe that “R&B/Soul” is the way that that color chart should be labeled.

Also, how nice was the second half of the ‘80s, when country virtually disappeared from the charts?

Here's Maddona at the Grammys. She's 64 yo.

As a comparison, Susanna Hoffs is also 64. Here she is from a tweet last year.

Courtney LaPlante was interviewed, and the reporter called her Poppy, so she finished out the interview as Poppy.

This is truly horrible.

The new artist medley was great.

the rest has been “show a bunch of people talking, then a bunch of commercials, to kill time until the last 20 minutes when we’re going to cram in all of the awards.”

I can’t believe I forgot to record this and start it on an hour delay

Lainey Wilson singing let the good times roll during a tribute to Quincy Jones may be the lowest point in the history of music

Was that the unseasonably tan white girl wearing a cowboy hat as Liberace accompanied her on piano?

The Grammys are unwatchable.

Hey got banned from the Oscars. Not the Grammys.

Yea but he wasn’t getting invited to others for a while either, just saw it was his first to attend since the Oscar’s incident.

Well Will Smith has the number one most important currency in today’s world: people talk about him. So yea, let’s work him into the show.

Same as the broad that showed up in the clear shower curtain dress a few posts up.

My guess is that you will see him in a film in 3 years, if not sooner.

This is the first stop on the Will Smith comeback tour, because he is an international film star and the international film going audience is fairly racist, so when you have a bankable actor who is pre-approved, you want to continue making bank while you can.

Slapping Chris Rock is nothing compared to some of the stuff we have seen in [take that shit to the CR] “other parts of society”, so get over the slap. He’s coming back.

And Chris Martin. Just a bit out of tune.

He did OK.  I've never heard him do anything but live vocals.  I'm hardly a Coldplay fan, but the guy has more than a modicum of talent.

I guess I'm totally out of touch. Kendrick Lamar, Song of the Year? What a crap song. Just my opinion.

It's okay to have wrong opinions. That song is great, has a catchy tune, and has parts people love to sing as evidence by the entire arena singing "a minor" when he was walking up to accept the award.

I think it’s reasonable for someone who likes music to tune into the biggest music awards show.

Every time I do I get reminded of how much I’m not the target market for the popular music of today. Such is life I guess.

One think I know for sure though is that Beyoncé record was not the best country record of the year.
