Texas Rangers 2023 - They're Still Shitty?

I have absolutely no faith in Max Scherzer

Nor should you. He’s 7-8 in 28 playoff appearances (23 starts) with a 3.80 ERA. 4 of those 7 wins came over a decade ago while in DET and the other three were all in the magical 2019 Nationals run.

His last two playoff starts have been disasters.

I've been watching the series but not posting. I just don't understand Semien's approach at this point. You've been terrible all playoffs and you are the lead-off hitter. Stop trying to hit the shit out of the ball. His slump has made it way easier to pitch to Seager because there's never anybody on base.

Feels like Semien is an automatic out at this point. He’s lost at the plate.

So your analysis of the guy who led the league in hits and runs leads you to believe that the problem is that now he’s trying to ‘hit the shit out of the ball’? Instead of what, swinging slower?

I don't care about his regular season stats at this point. Swing slower isn't the right term, but shortening up your swing can certainly help you make better contact and have a better chance to get on base than what he's doing right now. He's "swinging fast" but missing every time--which is why he's popping up so much.
