Setup- home has Wi-Fi, and HP laser jet is on it, has been for five years. Wife’s laptop can no longer connect to it, says can’t access driver.

Kid’s Chromebook can still print to it, as can iPhones.

Something is wrong with the (2 years old Dell) laptop. Any ideas? Could a Windows 11 software update have broken the connection? Any ideas on how to address?

My first step would be to go to the Windows Update (or whatever it is called now in 11) and download the recommended drivers.  I would also make sure I have the latest hp software (not just the bare driver) on the laptop.

If you’ve done the turn off/turn on thing with the printer and her computer and her computer can otherwise utilize wifi, I’d delete the printer from windows and add it again. Then I’d uninstall the software and install it again.

Please try the following steps:

Update the HP LaserJet drivers on your wife's laptop.
Check for and install any available Windows 11 updates.
Restart the laptop and the printer.
Ensure that the Wi-Fi network is stable.

Download the HP Smart app onto the laptop and connect the printer to Wi-Fi. HP really pushes that and for whatever reason it solves those funky connection issues.
