Listening to a bunch of random 80s-00s music with extended family and decided to share this one.  Recorded in 1992 when Soundgarden opened for GnR on the Use Your Illusion Tour.

My personal discovery of Soundgarden was at Waterloo records in late 1989 or early 1990.  A&M records promo'd a lot of their newer artists with deep discounts.  Bought the Soundgarden Louder than Love cassette (yes, cassette) for $4.44.  Enjoy...

And what I heard the first time I heard the song :)

Going to commercial break during the Vikings-Rams game I thought it sounded like Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around. I wasn’t sure. My memory is fuzzy but if you’d asked me, I would’ve guessed Fleetwood Mac. I must’ve been right about the song, I don’t see how I could’ve been mistaken, but it’s been so long, I forgot it was Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty. I haven’t listened to this song in years. It’s still pretty damn good.

My kid is showing an interest in band/orchestra, and has been listening to some soundtracks, and he played the Star Trek: The Motion Picture theme on YouTube, and damn, I forgot how good Jerry Goldsmith was. Next time TMP or Wrath of Khan show up at the Alamo Drafthouse, we are going.

There was one helluva string of soundtracks in the late 70s .

  • 1977: Star Wars opening theme
  • 1978: Superman The Movie opening theme
  • 1979: Star Trek The Motion Picture opening theme

I owned that soundtrack album on vinyl when it came out.

Great song.

Always loved and maybe even prefer this cover. A bit more urgency.

What the fuck is wrong with you?

That video takes 2 minutes to start the song and then the lead singer instantly blows the vocals.

Nothing personal but Jesus Christ that isn't Stevie and Tom and it isn't close.

Going back to my roots. Freshman year at UT they headlined at The Parish. The band I had never listened to before that opened for them was The National. Life’s never been the same since.
