Matt is always better. His entire channel is gold.

He’s grown on me. And after thinking sec shorts was better at the beginning of the season, he has consistently outperformed them lately (and by wider and wider margins). Loved the BCS logo Easter egg.  I would be mad at him selling out to Allstate and covering up the “Go Cocks” cheerleader rear but as long as it doesn’t effect the quality of the product, I’m all for the guy making some money.

Sec shorts would have been better off taking a bye week.. or just have 4 minutes of vandy pimp at Vandy.

SEC Roll Call is definitely better. SEC Shorts failed this week by not featuring Texas. I don't give a shit about any of these other schools, just pump Texas and I am good.

Im guessing SEC Shorts had something much better planned if Vandy had beaten Cocky.

Yeah they hinted at it with the 10pm shoot on a Sunday joke. I imagine they had to reshoot the whole thing.

The drunk LSU mom was pretty funny. Otherwise, not great.

I don't think the SEC is going to add a 9th game unless/until Disney offers to pay more for it.

I can't imagine how the math isn't pretty compelling to Disney. 8 additional conference games versus 16 pointless games, mostly against FCS schools, that usually wind up on ESPN+. That's got to be worth at least another $32M for the conference, if not substantially more. Couple that with removing paying cupcakes to play you at home and the financial value seems easily there for the 16 teams.

Yeah I completely agree, which is why I think it'll eventually happen, that the conference goes to 9 games.

My only point is, there's no way the conference is going to go to 9 games, UNTIL Disney pays for it.  It's the SEC's remaining bargaining chip and they're not going to give it away for free.

Yeah, blOU and michigan sucking really hurts the Longhorns resume -- no wins against current Top 25 teams since vandy lost vs cocks.

Here's the thing, tho. They were ranked when we played them. What happens afterwards is meaningless. We still beat two ranked teams when they were ranked. Same with Vandy. It's not our fault they ended up sucking. We didn't make the rankings.

Was worried we would get another 11am but glad they picked my favorite (old man) time slot.

Also despite our "terrible SEC schedule" we will have managed to get on ABC for 6 of the 8 games with only Miss St & Vandy being on SECN.

Kentucky was going to be an afternoon or night game since August

Is it though?

rankings are often widely regarded as pointless through at least the first month

This is a horrible take if your are then going to argue that "ranked wins" indicates you are a good team

Incoming rant. Experiencing firsthand the misinformation machine that is the media surrounding the SEC is pretty eye opening. The disconnect between what the announcers are yapping about, what the media is putting out all week, and what is happening week to week on the field is alarming. How many times during the Florida Georgia game yesterday did we hear something along the lines of “Georgia needs to recapture the form they had in Austin” or “they’re not playing as well as they were before the bye week”? And if you were to just look at the score you might not think twice about those types of comments but watch the game and anyone with eyes can see that Georgia is playing exactly how they have played all season and it’s November so it’s not like a trend can’t be established here. The offense was terrible even before Etienne went out, and prior to the last few minutes of the 4th , it was nonexistent without him. Carson Beck hasn’t done a single thing this season to suggest that he won’t continue to turn the ball over in terrible fashion in critical spots every week. He’s also so ugly that it hurts, and I am counting down the seconds until I can watch #11 drop his nuts on Beck’s face. The only difference between the Florida game and Texas game for Georgia was that Florida wasn’t gift wrapping the ball and consistently giving the Georgia offense extremely short fields like Texas did in the first half 2 weeks ago. Go back even further and watch the first half of the Alabama Georgia game or the Georgia Kentucky game, it’s the same thing: a below average offense led by a below average quarterback getting consistently bailed out by an awesome defense against inferior opponents. So, Texas beats OU 34-3, but now the narrative somehow is Quinn Ewers sucked and held us back and OU wasn’t a good team anyway so that win shouldn’t count for anything? Even if Quinn admittedly had a below average game for his standard, why don’t Georgia and Beck get the same treatment? We beat a good Vandy team on the road last week and Quinn looked hugely improved from the last two games, yet the narrative is we barely squeaked it out in a one score game against a bad team? Kirk was praising Beck for battling through adversity after throwing his THIRD PICK AGAINST A 4-3 FLORIDA TEAM AT A NUETRAL SITE. So now I guess we’re praising guys for being anything but absolute ass and complete liabilities to their team. The fact that Georgia was even still in the game at the point when Beck threw his 3rd pick is 100% a testament to their defense, despite their shit offense. How many other QBs are getting praised for coming back after their 3rd pick and just turning around to hand the ball of and toss a couple bubble screens to grind out a win against A 4-3 TEAM AFTER COMING OFF A BYE WEEK FOLLOWING BEATING THE NUMBER ONE TEAM IN THE COUNTRY ON THE ROAD? And it’s not like Florida has some unreal defense. They were out half their secondary and Beck was still throwing picks all over the field. His second one was to a DE that had dropped into coverage. He sucks. The refusal of the media and many fans to watch the games and draw their own conclusions is unbelievable. There is an epidemic of non-ball knowing going around right now and it’s wild to watch unfold. We’ve already seen this cycle of early hype despite some glaring issues and eventually disaster play out for a few other “top dawgs” in the SEC like Mizzou, Ole Miss, and most recently the Aggies so watching it happen again and again every week is wild when it’s pretty clear from actually watching the games what is going on with these teams and how legit they are.

Holy shit, SEC fans are some sort of bitter and butt hurt that our SEC schedule turned out to be a joke. Like Georgia for the the past 5+ years hasn't gotten an easy schedule playing in the East where they were the only good team in the entire division.

We play seven of the same eight teams that Tennessee plays, and didn't schedule a shitty OOC slate like they did. 1 FCS team, 0-8 Kent State, 4-5 North Carolina State, 2-7 UTEP.

Moving forward Texas needs 2 P4 teams on their OOC schedule, if the SEC sticks with 8 conference games. 3 G5 teams is pussy scheduling.

As long as we avoid FCS, I don't have a problem with an OOC schedule consisting of a marquee P4, TX directional, and 2 G5 schools.  With the 12 or 14-team playoff, if we have a good year we will be in the playoff and if we have a bad year, an extra OOC P4 won't make a difference.  The SEC schedule will not be this easy every year.

Are most Texas fans against a 9 game conference schedule?  Would sure seem to eliminate the potentially ridiculous number of ties that may happen with an 8 game schedule in a 16 team league.

Texas fans want a 9 game schedule.  Think OU does too

it seems to be more of the have-nots in the SEC who don't, because they need the extra guaranteed win

I don't think anyone wants terrible double directional FBS teams in September when we could play another SEC team. The problem is home games. People don't want to give up more home games for conference games. You can get a nice buy a win into your gate versus possibly losing a home game every other year.

We are in favor of 9 games.  We are not absolute vaginas.
