I listened to part of the ON3 Sooner Scoop “Unofficial 40” podcast (it is impossible to listen to all of it, unless you care deeply about collegiate softball). It’s a great example of how fanbases obsess on their teams and know little about others.

They suggested Lole flipped to Texas because he was concerned about the competition for playing time at OU (because, in their minds, Murphy and Sweat leaving means there has to be an empty cupboard behind?). Also, they are already counting Damonic Williams as a dominant player. They also suggested the reason OU was inactive on Edges in the portal was due to there not being any really good ones (Trey Moore?). They talked a lot about not going to the portal if you like your young players and can count on them developing.

To that last point- those young, developing players? You better have NIL built in for that, or you’re just going to develop them for Ole Miss or Oregon. Or Missouri, like they lost that freshman OL to.

Tbf, Gerry and Bobby indicated that Damonic Williams was the best NG in the portal.  The rest does sound like what I'd expect from zero u.

If breaking a girl’s face in 5 places doesn’t warrant a suspension up there, a wholesome dui certainly won’t.

Mixon was suspended for the entire season.

RS or suspension tomato-tomato is there really much discrepancy? No. He left after his 3 year at OU. So whether he played his freshman year or not didn’t change the outcome.

<statsman> He stayed on scholarship, ate with the team, practiced with the team, stood on the sidelines. He was even mentored by Borden, while Molitor had to flee campus.  <statsman>

It’s old news but Mixon was suspended for the season.  Did not practice, train, eat or attend any team activities.

Look at blowu fans attempting revisionist history. They redshirted him in an attempt to cover his felony assault up which they succeeded in (because the Norman community fought tooth and nail to keep the video hidden for multiple years i.e. restaurant owner, prosecutor, judge). And he played the next year.

And this was on top of the multitude of other wifebeaters Stoops seemed to favor. The Norman community is in the gutter with Waco in terms of overlooking violence against girls for winning football. Baylor/Blowu is your tomato/tomahto.

Holy Jimbo Fisher, batman. They're giving him a raise off of 10-3? That schedule was deep fried garbage. I could have coached that team to 10 wins. The only ranked team they played besides us was Arizona in the bowl game and they lost that one. Credit to him for winning in Dallas last year, but I'm way more inclined to chalk it up to weird TX/OU shit.

Can't wait to see how this fuckstick does this year with a green QB and a brand new oline. They have a fucking joke of a non-conference schedule again, but get Tennessee, Ole Miss, Missouri, Texas, Bama and LSU. That's 6 teams that will be probably ranked in the top 15 pre-season.

They were getting roasted on XM84 for this today. I view this as glorious news. There was no reason to give this rube a raise, but, hey, fuck it, go for it.

2017: Jimbo Fisher hired

'18-'20 record: 26-10

2021: Extended

Extension dollars/win: $865,384

2021 - Burnt Vegetables hired

'22-'23 record: 16-10

2023: Extended

Extension dollars/win: $906,250

This extension is basically Herman's 2019 extension minus the Sugar Bowl win justification, yet somehow worse than what aggy did

So they are extending a coach that, by my count, is 2-7 against ranked teams in his two years as head coach and 0-2 in bowl games. He was going into year 3 of a 6 year contract, so it's not like this was hanging over his head. His two years are inarguably the worst two OU seasons since 2015 and trending toward the three worst seasons in the past ten years with the schedule they have this year. However, OU fans insist that he's changed the culture from that sissy Lincoln Riley football that resulted in NY6 games basically every year. This is so awesome.

I mean, if you want a fanbase that gets fucking amped about schlocky megachurch pastor vibes, that's the one.

ou twitter accounts think this move brings in Fasusi

I assumed that's what the gooners had in mind.  Offer the teammate and blow the lid off in NIL, at least to the degree they can.

That’s a Georgia athlete with the same name.  This Cortez Mills doesn’t appear to have ever run track.

I appreciate our classes having almost no overlap in terms of targets. Leads to a lot of "oh that's nice for you I think" from both sides.

Agreed except I want Fasusi pretty badly. We have whiffed on 3/4 of our top tackle targets.

Sounds like you'll get him. Doesn't seem like our staff was thrilled with his attitude / extracurricular activities on his OVs.
