I’ve decided I need one for traveling at this point. It won’t be used much and will be paid off in full every month. What’s the consensus on best cash back type rewards card? Don’t really need one that does miles, because I don’t fly anywhere.

Do you just drive around in circles?

Pretty much. I actually don’t go many places. We usually make a summer trip with the kids and then I use the rest of my vacation during hunting season and Christmas. I don’t really like travel. But I’m going to have to travel a few times a year with work. I’d prefer not to use my debit card away from home.

If it is going to be used that infrequently I don’t think it matters much. Just get one the 2% cash back cards and be done, it doesn’t sound like you are looking for any other travel perks.

We were just on a AA flight and got hooked by their Aviator card pitch…got 110,000 miles for getting a card for me and wife. Comes with free domestic checked bags and priority check in for everyone in your reservation. No fee for first year, so bad ass year one IMO.

My Chase CC has a ~20% interest rate, quite a bit higher than my WF cards. I got a Citi card with 0% interest for 21 months and 3% transfer fee, but the balance isn’t high enough to wipe out my Chase card. I need a couple more. Anyone have any preferred balance transfer cards?

Anyone heard of this https://www.robinhood.com/creditcard/ 3% cash back with no fees (but they do have a $5/month subscription fee to have an account but you get same perks as any other Visa Signature card)  My be a good option for those who pay off their balance every month (but I like my Chase Sapphire for the miles...)  (Info was sent to be by a buddy who is a Financial advisor but I've never heard of them...)

I have a Chalmer's Big and Tall Gold Card. It's a seven outlet chain in the pacific northwest.

Great stuff.   Unfortunately, it does us no good here.

Fwd from a friend just now.  Bilt will pay your rent via cc and with no fee.  (They'll mail your landlord a check and bill it to the card.)  According to this guy, Bilt and their Wells Fargo underwriters presumed users were all broke, and would carry balances.  Big ones.  LOL no.  Users are paying it off every month, harvesting rewards (1% of your monthly rent adds up fast) and making Bilt and WF bleed.  Yeah screw those guys.

Seems they're locked in to this deal for several more years and still take new customers.  No monthly or annual fee.  No fee to bird dog your rent check through them.  I presume a point is a penny per dollar (1%)?  Just gotta use the card for a few other purchase per month (presumably to run up a higher balance they can charge you interest on.

Am I missing anything here?  I'm a renter and getting 1% of my rent back is real money.  (Easily $3.50)

And look at those interest rates.  I'm no fan of Bernie Sanders.  But.  He has a point...
