Of course he was.   You never seem to read about religious leaders sexually abusing old people in the nursing home.

Authorities have arrested a Catholic priest who served in at least eight San Antonio-area churches on allegations that he sexually abused a woman in her 70s, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said in a Tuesday briefing.

I mean, I'm not saying that there's hasn't been attractive, fit men that molested children.  But based on some of these youth pastors...some of you 12 year olds seem to have a "type" and it ain't good.

Crazy that we can have public figures railing against queer people for just existing and life just goes on for them, but if any public figure were to go on air and demand action about the clear and pervasive issue of pederasty within American Christianity, they'd torch their career.

Don't forget the Roman Catholics.

Why do you hate Noah and his family’s sexy time?

You know, the more you secular, pro-grooming assholes post these photos of these child rapists, the more I realize you don't anything about what kind of marketing material you need to use for kiddie shows.  Why not post them in something fun where they're smiling and full of sunshine?  Instead, it's these smug, mug shots where they're all dour and defeated.  Kick it up a notch like Jesus and Greg Abbott intended.

The more the pundits opine on the way citizens are turning away from religion (no CR), the more I'm thinking there is a sizable number of citizenry in this country that are perhaps looking out for the welfare of their family by not putting them in danger. Obey, obey, obey and submit, submit, submit are admirable admonitions when discussing quelling harmful and destructive tendencies but it's obvious that they are magnitudes more harmful when used by the powerful against the least of these, the meek and powerless.

Not so cool story bro. I've got no headline news only a story about my once youth pastor that diddled and knocked up our 13 year old youth group member while his wife was pregnant. The church, naturally, did nothing other than dismiss him of his duties instead of reporting him to the authorities. We were all children carrying this heavy burden for years and never knew what happened to him until he was found dead under mysterious circumstances last year.

This dude had a powerful influence on all of us. We hung on his every word and ultimately betrayed the good faith he'd built up in a couple dozen kids for years. Now, as an adult I'm incredibly hesitant to involve my family especially my kids in any of it. It's a damn shame.

That means pictures of children being abused. Pictures and videos of the actual acts.

Ok.  Weird use of ‘materials.’

Just say pics &/or vids.  The way it reads sounds almost like paraphernalia used to abuse children.

Here's a little more about this case:

https://okcfox.com/news/local/blackwell-police-arrest-pastor-wife-on-child-abuse-kidnapping-charges-8-children-beaten-with-wooden-board-locked-in-room-no-food-keith-holt-candy-holt-pastor-house-of-prayer-church-blackwell

The police report goes on to say officers believe Holt beat the children with a wooden board sometimes up to 40 times per beating, and they are also accused of locking the kids in a bathroom for several days without food and water as punishment.

All of the children were taken into protective custody.

The church had a facebook post saying that Holt was not the senior pastor (they did not comment to the reporter for the article) but they also did not say if he or his wife were employed by the church in any capacity.

A Colorado-based pastor for an online church accused of pocketing $1.3 million through a cryptocurrency fraud scheme told followers in a video statement that the Lord told him to do it.

Eli Regalado and his wife marketed their cryptocurrency, INDXcoin, to Christian communities in Denver, saying God told him people would become wealthy if they invested, the Colorado Division of Securities said in a statement Thursday.

INDXcoin raised nearly $3.2 million, the Securities Division said. At least $1.3 million of that went directly to the Regalados or was "used for their own personal benefit," said a complaint filed Tuesday in Denver County District Court.

The Regalados could not be reached for comment. In a video statement to his followers last week, Eli Regalado said the charges that they pocketed $1.3 million "are true."

“Out of the $1.3 [million], half a million dollars went to the IRS, and a few hundred thousand dollars went to a home remodel the Lord told us to do," he said in the video.

The couple also allegedly spent their investors’ funds on a Range Rover, luxury handbags, jewelry, an au pair, boat rentals and snowmobile adventures, according to the complaint.

When religious wackos are combined with crypto dorks, the rube quotient must be off the scale

Quote

"We took God at his word and sold a cryptocurrency with no clear exit," Regalado in his video address Friday. "What we're believing for still is that God is going to do a miracle. God is going to work a miracle in the financial sector."

In the comments on Regalado's video, dozens of people continue to reassure him that God will "turn the situation around."

The LDS, much like Southern Baptists and the Catholic Church, have been covering up this shit for decades. And with the LDS being so powerful in Utah, they've been getting off light when caught.

https://www.businessinsider.com/american-airlines-attendant-charged-over-claims-of-recording-girls-in-plane-restrooms-2024-1

A 36-year-old American Airlines flight attendant was arrested Thursday on two charges related to claims he'd filmed a minor using an airplane bathroom, the US Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts said.

Estes Carter Thompson III was charged with one count of attempted sexual exploitation of children and one count of possession of child pornography depicting a prepubescent minor.

A press release from the Department of Justice released Thursday says the claims involve an American Airlines flight to Boston from Charlotte, North Carolina, in September.

The DOJ cited charging documents alleging that during the flight Thompson directed a 14-year-old girl to the first-class bathroom before saying he needed to go in first to wash his hands.

According to the press release, when the girl entered she was said to have found an iPhone stuck to the inside of the toilet seat's lid under a handwritten sign that said "SEAT BROKEN."

Fuck, this thread is disturbing.  Your mind wants to believe shit like this is not rampant, but that's wishful thinking I guess.

When we moved back to Austin after being gone for a few years, we started looking around for a church.  We're not religious at all but were looking for community.  My wife was raised catholic, and I was raised southern baptist.   Any baptist churches were a hard no based on my experience, but we were very open otherwise. We visited congregations all over town from a wide range of religions, not just Christian denominations but also buddhist, new age/spiritualist, etc.  We spent six months visiting a different place each week to find a good fit.  It was insane how desperate many of these groups, particularly the christian ones, were for new members - especially if you walk in the door with kids in tow.  Almost every one of them, after an initial greeting, tried to separate us from our children.  I understand it is typical for many places of worship to have the kids off in one place and the adults in another, but the places that argued with us when we said our kids would stay with us were immediately removed from the list.  It happened a lot.  I don't think they were all child molesters, but holy shit, you could see the hunger in their eyes.  I didn't want to just assume it was the prospect of fresh young blood in the congregation that had them so excited.  Ultimately, we just bought a boat and spent Sundays outdoors. Sometimes I worry about the isolating aspect of not being part of a large group, but we actively engage in our neighborhood and keep the kids engaged in activities with other children.

Religion is in a sad state of affairs in this country.  The only places that seem to be attracting attention are those douche-canoe-laden nondenominational places with bad music, vanity pastors, and a bunch of dummies who show up every week to be fleeced.  I'd rather rot in hell.  Especially when the evidence makes it very clear that your kids are in genuine danger if you take them to church, I don't understand why anyone does so.  It's easy to assume it won't happen in your church, I guess.

I don't think you would.

Most of the places are dying though.  Even the Catholic church has a huge shortage of priests.

This thread makes me feel physically ill.
