I was thinking I didn't think I had ever posted in the abortion thread before, but figured I must have just forgotten. But anything I would have posted in there definitely would not have contradicted my "pedophiles should be butchered and fed to dogs" mentality.

Yeah, that dipshit thinks women are chattel.

Regular citizens setting up, and taking down pedos, is becoming pretty common in other countries as well.  Set up a meeting and call the cops with all the evidence in hand.  Impressive.

Oh cool, maybe we can agree on something.  Men in women's spaces = women are chattel?

What, exactly is a woman’s space? I’m thinking you mean bathrooms, and I’d agree no person should enter an occupied bathroom stall. The sink area? Not as concerning, as many parts of the world have unisex bathrooms.

Seems like religious extremists of all stripes include pedo misogynists.

MAYPEARL, Texas — The new police chief quickly impressed the small Texas community he’d sworn to protect. He started a Christmas charity event. He checked on elderly neighbors.

...

The kids would eventually call him The Creeper. The adults would denounce him as a monster. The prosecutors who put him away for child sexual abuse would describe him as a master manipulator “who groomed the community.”

These guys just got sentenced to 100 years each.  They adopted and raped their sons, recorded child porn, and also pimped them out to the local pedo ring.

So, what are you trying to do here?  There's 24 pages of posts here, almost none of them involving LGBTQ.  Somewhere between about 8 and 15% of the US population identifies as LGBTQ.  So it would be expected that a few of the wackjobs would be LGBTQ.

But you know who is seriously overrepresented on this thread?  Not teh gheys, but the congregational "Christians" that often as not are wholly supportive of the oppression of LGBTQ.

Huge rape culture in the churches.  Thanks to this idiot pope, not much is being done at least on the Catholic side of things.  They hate LGBTQ but turn around and put their dick in a kids butt.  Sounds just like some other cultures out there.

and there's more to the story.  we brought this fucker out to the ranch to put down an older longhorn for a full mount and a hide rug.  he got half the money up front.  this was in 2022.  still don't have the mount or rug and probably never will.

Especially when several of his posts have fuck all to do with our country. I can picture him frantically scouring all right wing media for the dozens of examples around the world of minorities committing pedo crimes, while actively avoiding the thousands of convicted evangelical dickheads in our state alone.

Weird hill to die on

given the large number of rapists in these churches, I'm starting to think that access to children or teenagers is the main reason some/all of these guys went into the ministry.

Ease of access is absolutely a factor, similar to becoming a cop being the path of least resistance to the most amount of power.

Thread hits close to home, my kids high school youth pastor was arrested yesterday for a litany of issues involving a high school student. It’s hard to fathom how an adult ends up doing the stupid shit they do.

7 months later and this guy still hasn’t gone to trial and has had virtually no hearings. He admitted sleeping with an underage individual in the church but apparently is going to fight the severity of the charge and the fact it got moved to federal court. They have put the girl through the wringer. They don’t make it easy for people that come forward and report these types of things even with when the guy from day one says he did it.

It’s been difficult keeping our daughters engaged in church through everything. The youngest is friends with the girl and has had a hard time with it. The oldest has been in church since she was little, goes on mission trips every year, has been heavily involved, etc but now associates the college pastors at the new churches she has tried with her youth pastor.

It’s terrible for the families directly involved but these assholes leave a wide swath of destruction behind them.

I've never understood why people go to church. I have nothing against people who believe in God and want to pray and follow the teachings of whoever or whatever as long as they are good people and don't impose upon others. Do it independently. Bringing your family to a church just seems to be taking a risk of some of the worst, most evil people alive to try and worm their way into your family affairs and possibly prey upon your loved ones.

They do it because we’re called to be in community. It is our very nature (it’s also why we tailgate and go to games instead of just watching them all at home alone).
The first problem is…needing to be around other people is a real thing, but other people sometimes suck.
The second problem is particular to faith communities: it’s the PERFECT place for abusers to hide (“a devoted man of god who believes in morals and goodness wouldn’t do anything bad!”)…kind of like being a cop is the ideal job for violent psychopaths. The problem is that both, at what they are intended to be/at their best, are incredibly helpful and important for humanity (I hate cops…but I also know and believe that we need cops, and I actually want is to have cops).
Nevermind the horrific lurch to the abusive and cruel right that American “Christianity” has taken in recent decades to make it even worse.

Yeah I get the need to be part of a community. I just think that itch is better scratched elsewhere.
