Clear cut favorite. You'll see it from Vegas in an hour or so once this pillaging of Gonzaga is done. Even money, probably less, to win the title.

But the tournament is a game 7 every time out. Off night shooting, someone twists an ankle, whatever. We've seen it. Teams that are clear cut become victims.

And it's the beauty of the event and why it's the greatest that sport has to offer.

UConn actually a little over even money. +105.  Texas next at +350.

I hardly follow basketball, but even I know what teams have the magic. UConn is one of them. Like someone else pointed out, 5 total prior FFs for them, but 4 titles. They just don’t lose in March. Or April I guess

Except for the dozens of other times they didn't make the Final Four.

Well yeah UConn has already won. It will be close to even if Texas wins today.

I understand how it works.

Was just pointing out that Texas is 2nd favorite. They will remain as such is they win today.

After 5 screen and rolls you'd think SD would get it....

I guess I don't understand the ref situation.  Creighton only has one foul called to 5 against SDSU.  That is not evenly called, imo.

ref just called traveling correctly though.

For us, we are due for at least an evenly called game, and possibly a bias for us, because of the 8 minutes of total bias for Xavier the other day.

Are you saying it's not evenly called due to it being 5 to 1 or because the refs are missing calls?

I thought our Round 1 and 2 games were decently called.

I don't like to see 5 to 1. that tells me it needs to correct to closer to even, and it did.  final numbers in first half 5 to 3. Ours was an extreme example the other day 8 minutes of 5 to 0 plus a couple of misses on possession.

Why does it need to be even? Does every team play defense the exact same way with players whose defensive ability is no different than another?

It doesn't have to be exactly even.  But with this high ability of players, in a close game, it should be very close to even, unless one team is playing a completely different game than the other.  example I don't see one team shooting huge #of 3s vs the other team mostly driving the ball inside.  I see both teams playing a similar style.

SD tough and resilient. Down Friday night by 9 with 11 left to the closest thing this tournament has (athletically) to an NBA team. Shrugged it off, won going away.

Couldn't expect SD to go away today.

They are tough mother fuckers. Achilles heel all year has been scoring droughts. Just went through one and only down 4. Should be a great final 10 minutes

Final four can never be reseeded. The speak of the tournament to half of America is the brackets and gambling associated with them. Completely unworkable for the average fan.

Alright I'm convinced due to all the gambling and bracket wagers associated with this tournament that reseeding won't work. Thx.

Bettors Backing Miami in Midwest Regional Final vs. Texas

The Texas Longhorns enter their Midwest Regional Final against the Miami (FL) Hurricanes as the higher seed and favorite. Still, bettors are backing the Hurricanes in this Elite Eight matchup.

FanDuel Sportsbook opened the Longhorns as -4.5 chalk for Sunday’s showdown. However, the line has shifted ahead of tip-off, with Texas down to -3.5. As implied, that means money is coming in on the fifth-seeded Hurricanes.

Miami has covered all three tournament games, two of which were as underdogs. That’s helped them maintain their season-long streak in which they’ve covered eight of nine games as the plus-money team. More impressively, the Hurricanes have won outright in six of those contests.

However, the Longhorns have been equally impressive as favorites lately. Since the start of March, Texas is 6-0-1 against the spread as chalk.

It’s strength against strength as these teams vie for a spot in the Final Four. Provided this spread doesn’t land on a whole number, one of these streaks will inevitably come to an end on Sunday

Miami vs. Texas Prediction Against the Spread

While Texas is the better team in this matchup, they have struggled against up-temp offenses. Miami does not play lightning fast, but this team can run, and if they throw the Longhorns off rhythm early and continue to shoot the lights out, Miami will be starting right down the barrel of its first Final Four appearance in school history.

The Longhorns are going to fight, and they very well may win this game, but they have a tall ask against a red-hot Miami team, and we have seen them struggle against teams with a similar style of play (Kansas State, Kansas, Baylor, Etc.).

This very well could be the most exciting game of the Elite Eight, and with how hot they’re playing, we will roll with Miami to cover the spread.

Pick: Miami +4

The fuck? We split with KSU and Baylor and whipped Kansas in 2 of 3. I don’t consider 3-2 struggling against 3 of the top 20 teams in the country.
