I saw that movie, back in the early 70s. Some people were fleeing from oppression in a dystopian wasteland or something, iirc.

No I think that the one where the ghost of Charlie sheen drives it to seek revenge.

How do you feel about mall qaeda?

Which is a splinter faction of Meal Team Six.

On the college front, I think part of the decline is parents letting their kids fart around instead of going to get a degree but given that tuition fees are going through the roof, you can understand why parents aren't pushing 10-20-40-50K a year expenses with vigor.

Nice to see Nate Cohn is AWOL on Threads which, by the way, is getting much much better at covering elections and political events.

A review of the "voter suppression" in Mississippi yesterday.

- Hinds County itself is required to provide ballots that amount to a minimum of 60% of the active voter count.

- Reportedly 9 of 107 precincts ran out of ballots.  One as early as 8:30 am.

- It was reported by a Hinds County Election Commissioner that the shortage was because voter turnout was "unexpectedly high".

- Actual voter turnout in Hinds County was 38%. Well below 60%.  No precinct got to 60%, in fact only one got to 50%.

- All 107 precincts were allowed to stay open an extra 2 hours.

I hate to say it, but i think you are correct.  In this case, it was D incompetence and R evilness.

Have they thought the only people answering polls are the people who answer calls from random phone numbers?

...and who have a side hustle-free lifestyle and/or aren't spending virtually all waking hours earning a living and therefore the expendable free time to fuck around with a survey?

I forgot how much I laughed at the time that Emerson dropped a Cameron +1 (49-48) poll right before Tuesday and everyone flipped out that the race had tightened.

Beshear won 52.5-47.4

Mom's for Liberty needs a rebranding campaign consultant.  But I'm assuming "Barren Cunts for Freedom" didn't workshop well?

Texas put in a bill but it never came to a vote this past session.

Give Charlie 'the Ckunt' Kirk credit...he forecasted this a decade ago.  As more and more first generation students attended college...they would begin to run for student government.  On many campuses, those Student Governments have tremendous influence on when/where/if other students can vote.  His idea was to allow this to happen, but to have student government power shift back to conservative, white legacy, pro-Greek candidates who would allow for the optics of campus voting but ensure it favored turnout for GOP candidates in certain swing distrcits/precincts.  He didn't quite have the Cambridge/Drogin analytics at the time, but he was far ahead of his peer group on his vision.  His model has been proven wrong but it took awhile and Charlie ain't going anywhere for another 40 years.  But congrats to the young people for giving a shit in an odd-numbnered year

was that the one with Peter Fonda where they went back and installed some kinda time travel device to power their cars in the future (which were ugly as shit like the Tesla Truck)?  And they'd burn up the people for fuel in Idaho or some shit?

Someone send that poll over to MTG. The resulting tweets would be amazing.

Can’t be. I heard trump and the GOP have the black male vote locked up tight.

It's a tricky problem for the GOP - tell a college student they can't do something, and they'll go out of their way to do it just to spite you.

This is amazing. Nate Cohn looks like someone took a photo from the Mississippi State yearbook, Class of 1953, and then photoshopped in SEC hair.

are we thinking nate was a zbt?  at mississippi state?  in the 1950's?

i'm skeptical.

If the Republicans had any semblance of rational leadership, they'd be scared shitless of all of the local and legislature losses they are taking.

But, MAGA gonna MAGA and focus/fixate on things that either drive up Dem turnout, or at the very least do nothing to help R's.

There’s been talk of some Ohio republicans wanting to repeal the marijuana legalization. Would they really be so stupid to overturn something that win by nearly 15 points?
