all his fights have been 1st round KOs.

all of them.

ESPN put up a graphic last night after the fight for all time KO's in first round, if I remember correctly 21 would be the number to beat.  Berlanga definitely has heavy hands.  Damn.

was that 21 total or 21 in a row?  or first 21 fights of one’s career?

fights i wanna see in 2021:

  1. crawford/spence - kinda getting the feeling that spence is perfectly fine waiting a few more years on this one until crawford is past his prime.  i don't think he's in any hurry to make this fight in 2021.
  2. fury/joshua - unlike fight #1, this fight should definitely happen in 2021.
  3. teofimo lopez/gervonta davis - could very well be fight of the year if it happens.
  4. canelo/artur beterbiev - can canelo beat THE guy at 175?  (probably, but i still wanna see it).
  5. shakur stevenson/miguel berchelt - shakur says he wants this fight, but i'd advise him to be careful what he wishes for.  if he can beat berchelt at this stage of his career, the sky's the limit.
  6. spence/pacquiao - since fight #1 is not likely to happen
  7. craford/shawn porter - since fight #1 is not likely to happen
  8. canelo-ggg 3 - sure, why not?

I like all of those but I think I’d rather see a Loma v Teo rematch before Davis gets a shot.

i'm just not sure there is anyone at 160 or 168 who can beat canelo.

I’d like to see Berlanga get a shot at him. I imagine his manager will have him keep fighting tomato cans until he gets the 1st round KO record but after that maybe.

I doubt Berlanga could beat him? I don’t know. I just want to see that guy fight someone good.

I dunno how “good” Berlanga is but it seems obvious that no one is beating Canelo without being able to at least match him for power. Berlanga appears to at least be able to do that. Now beating Canelo obviously requires more than that but he meets what I would consider the minimum expectation.

GGG did as well but, despite how he looked against a fighter who had zero business being there, I dunno that he has the pop he used to

Agreed overall. But Canelo possesses a very stellar defensive style when he needs to use it, and also has a rock-solid chin. GGG had the power to match, but essentially they were at a stalemate with both of them having strong-ass chins. Berlanga's would be getting tested for the first time, I assume.

Yea I think Canelo would just wear him out throughout the fight ultimately

Jose Canseco is the biggest pussy on the planet
I don't know why I expected better out of him, but I did. The gambling sites had a lime on the fight until yesterday and then pulled it.

It was a great choice. Whoever is making decisions for him is making good ones. He gets to say he fought a "professional". Technically. I guess.

Hope Askren can take him to deeper waters and punish his ass with those stupid punches he throws though.

Yeah. In my experience, striking is way way way harder to learn than grappling. There's a much bigger gap between knowing what to do and doing it with striking. And Askren is one of the worst I've ever seen.

solid card on espn tonight.  2 highlight reel knockouts capped off by the return of richard commey.

berchelt/valdez next week will be a fucking war.  gabe flores jr. on the undercard as well.

lol just watched the broner fight.  what a fucking joke of a unanimous decision.  broner barely even threw a punch in the first half of the fight and two of the judges gave him 7 rounds.
