I just don’t understand it.

What happened to every single pitcher in the offseason?

It’s like they are completely different.

There was none of this bullshit last year.

It’s like every single pitcher had a career year last year and regression to the mean was coming

I blame the dude next to me in the 7th.

”hey man am I wrong but do we have a no-hitter.”

Me: “I’m not sure. Check the scoreboard”.

Him: “yeah, I just wasn’t sure if they were errors or what”

jesus christ, man.

Who did you want?

We needed offense clearly. But they thought we needed more pitching. Our team pitching era was 3rd in mlb before the deadline. We didn’t need pitching even though I’m fine with adding more. What we need was offense as we were 15-17th in every team offensive category at the deadline.

Did not make aggressive trades before the deadline.  Now we suffer our eventual fate---of suck.

Trading away the future outfield wasn't enough?

Things that should be done this offseason...

  1. Tell Dusty thanks but we want to move in another direction.
  2. Fire the entire coaching and training staffs.
  3. Tell Maldonado thanks but Diaz's pinky is better than you.
  4. Non-tender Dubon, it's time for Pedro Leon. He can do everything Dubon can do, but probably better and cheaper.
  5. Loperfido gets a spot on the 26-man, as Meyers gets traded.
  6. Sign vets like Moustakas (can play 1B/3B) and Luke Maile to fill out the bench. You know, actual MLB caliber players instead of Salazar, Julks, Hensley, Madris, Singleton, or Kessinger.
  7. Sign some vets for the bullpen as you shouldn't even consider resigning any of the FAs in our bullpen.
    1. Remove Pressly from the closer role, Abreu should be the closer as he has better stuff than Pressly now.
    2. The pecking order should be Montero, Neris, Pressly, and Abreu.
  8. Don't be afraid to upgrade at 1B over Abreu if the right player and contract become available.
  9. With the savings you are getting try to get Tucker and Framber long-term deals signed.

I'm confused. Do you think we should have pursued Candelario?

Yea we should have pursued a bat. Are you just purposely always trying to act like a dumb ass? I mean your schtick makes me laugh but not for every discussion.

When talking about trades, I'd like to hear actual names, not just "someone" or "anyone".

That may have been the nail in the coffin. If we finish outside of playoffs due to a game or two. Then clean house, manager, all coaches, trainers. Then Brown and Crane need to answer why maldy continued to start while Diaz was better option on offense and defense. Stop letting ego of coaches dictate the teams trajectory.

Missed the game, and happy I did. At least the rangers are losing big. Mariners are up early. There's a reason why very few teams repeat, and we are seeing it play out. There's still time to, but they need to go on a run.
