So it’s Hunter brown day. That means we might see the death lineup for the second time this year.
reminder- we’ve played these 9 exactly once all year:

diaz, Abreu, Altuve, Peña, Bregman, Alvarez, Chas, Tucker, Brantley.
We scored 12 runs. We haven’t seen fit to play that lineup again. Even though literally everyone with two firing synapses knows that’s our best lineup (and maybe the best lineup in baseball).

One can dream.

If despite ourselves we win another ALCS and find ourselves in the inevitable Braves rematch, that's the only lineup that competes with what they have down in Atlanta.

That's hard to believe, almost impossible. That lineup is deep, almost comparable to 2019 line up. It's criminal that 9 has only been used once. Now I get injuries and stuff but the final 11 games roll out the death star line up.

I thought last night was the worst line up in the history of baseball ?

I’ll pray for better pitching today. Presley has given up 9 runs in his last 6 outings. He needs to get fixed, asap

This is a team that’s consistently behind in the count and it’s getting old.

Especially Abreu, dude seems like he is always down 0-2 and taking his timeout.

He's been a lot better the last month or so. This team has issues, but, at least right now, Abreu isn't one of them.

The biggest one is in the clubhouse right now chewing on a toothpick.

to be fair, brantley just got back a few weeks ago, so i don't blame dusty for the full 9 not being used pre sept 1st.  but how many times were our best 8 out there together before that?  whatever the number is, it wasn't enough.

and for those wondering about last night, i don't know if it would be handled any better from the rp standpoint, especially if abreu was unavailable.  montero has been very good over the back half of the season, even though he sucked last night.  and if neris/pressly can't protect a 2 run lead at home, then we will lose ballgames.

but when you have uncle mike and yainer and meyers on the bench in a close game from the 6th on, i expect more than just one pinch-running appearance.  if for no other reason than to get them ready for the postseason, everybody should be pinch-hitting, getting loose, getting warm, getting used to coming in a game close and late, especially for brantley who missed the whole season or a rookie like yainer.  yes, i know maldonado homered in the 8th, but he also struck out in the 6th in what could've been a completely blown opportunity.

dusty made plenty of mistakes last year and got bailed out by great pitching and timely hitting.  that's not happening as much this year for any number of reasons.  but when there are 5 levers that can be pulled to up the % of winning a game, i'm gonna need dusty to pull on at least one of them.

and yeah, not sending meyers was ridiculous.  you make them make the perfect play and if they do than they do.  there are a bunch of ways that play can get fucked up even without gary sanchez catching.

so brantley is hurt, right?

he's 13-39 career vs kyle gibson.  there's no reason he shouldn't be lf or dh tonight.

What this presupposes is…logic and rational thought play a role in our day-to-day lineup construction…

Ohearn (and orbit) signed my sons ball. Ohearn hit a HR. Hopefully orbit gets to PH for us and return the favor.

He may not be able to hit like O’Hearn but at least Orbit puts some effort in to his signatures
