The important thing is that his idiot followers have to defend him paying off a porn star, and they have to do it publicly while trying to deny that he had an affair with her.  Or paid her for sex.

LBJ would be proud.

Are we sure that’s all this is?  I mean 34 counts in his indictment amid chatter that the Trump Org CFO might have flipped.  If that’s true, I’m guessing he at least knows of a lot more illegality than porn star hush money.

I’m guessing tax fraud if Weisselberg flipped?

One of the more difficult aspects of convicting Trump for this or other offenses is proving his personal knowledge of the "affair."

He could very well have said, "pay her off, do what you need to do" and left it at that.  Or, even if that didn't happen, it could probably be fairly credibly characterized that way.  Remember that paying her off, itself, is not illegal.  In this particular case, it's hiding those payments as payments of legal fees (falsification of documents), and for the benefit of the candidate/campaign.

A guy like Pecker or Weisselberg could establish that he knew the payments needed to be disguised and endorsed that plan. among other things.  Cohen could, but he's got credibility problems.

Yesterday I’m at work in the morning and I look over and three feet from me was Robert DeNiro sitting down in the corner of our bar. I would have enjoyed seeing him there today instead to see the reaction on his face to this news.

I guess it’s nyc but in the morning?

He wasn’t drinking. Just sitting in a quiet corner having an espresso. Same spot I sit in when I don’t want to hear much in the way of noise when I begin my day. The only people drinking in the morning are the Europeans.

I've made a terrible mistake.  I smoked the aluminum foil and shoved the meth up my butthole.  Dammit.  This is why we can't have nice things.

If this is true, your deed might have just surpassed Ashli Babbit’s January 6th protest as the dumbest act inspired by Donald Trump.

Wait, it's all good.  I doubled back and checked everything out. I shoved my aluminum foil up your mom's butthole, smoked the meth, and called your Dad.  We're all good in the 'hood.  This is gonna be a fantastic weekend.

If the dems had just ignored him, he probably wouldn't even get the Republican nomination.  So many people have moved on.

Fuck.

Hush money to a stripper?  That's the primary charge that's being talked about?  Not embezzlement of US funds, not treason, not any great crime empire? Business shenanigans related to an affair?   They better have more than that when they unseal the charges or this going to backfire.

Before you scream that that it can't backfire and he's done, remember back to 2015.  You probably through he would never win, and you probably didn't know anyone who voted for him.  But he did win.

If he beats these charges, this validates any kind bat-shit they're-out-to-get-me story that they want to make up.

If they don't get a solid and swift conviction, (and unless the charges have some bombshells, they probably won't get either) this is going to be a fucking shitshow.

Nothing like waking up in Asia to a Trump indictment and MAGA tears in my cup. This was seen as the weakest of the cases, 34 counts probably means they got more serious dirt than just the Stormy pay off not to talk about Trump's micro phallus.  Going to be funny to see the idiots he scrounges up to represent him in all these court rooms he will be inhabiting soon.
