The bolded.  Times 10,000.  This is a cousin of all the "sovereign citizen" idiot types, who walk into a court room, and tell the judge that they are not a person, they are a man, and he does not create joinder with the admiralty court with gold fringe on the flag and whatnot.  They think they're uniquely clever, and have figured out a loophole that lets them opt out of 250 years of American law and history, because they are smarter than anyone who has ever lived.

But in the end, they're all just different versions of this....a video that warms my fucking heart every goddamned time I see it....

I do love how he just throws out mutually exclusive pejoratives.  His critics are both commies AND fascist

Quad indicted?  Georgia is coming on the heels of J6.

If you want to be technical, quad criminally indicated and one civilly indicted.

I like this.

Donald J. Trump: the Washington Generals of the American legal system

of course, his base would think that's a compliment, "Oh yeah, like General Washington...the second greatest President in our history.  'Member when he stormed the ramps while taking back the airports from the British?  I 'member."

I think somebody told him the old adage about an attorney representing himself has a fool for a client.  And he took that to mean his lawyers may be fools because Trump thinks he can defend himself.  No, that doesn't make any sense.  Which is why I believe he thinks that.

"bankrupt failed casino owner, legally prohibited from running a charity because he has previously been caught stealing from them, former game-show host, disgraced rapist, and criminally indicted former president Trump" - I mean, that's a helluvan autofill.....but I'll allow it.

Twice impeached.

The truth has never mattered to Trump. It’s not important if he is winning or losing… it’s important that people think he’s winning.

Correct, the feds pretty much never charge something they aren't near certain they have evidence that practically ensures a guilty verdict.

An article I just read reminded me that obstruction of an official proceeding, 18 USC 1505 is in the same chapter as the other obstruction of justice offenses, including witness tampering.  So, it is conceivable, then, that the target letter referred to Chapter 73 of Title 18 or some such so that obstruction of an official proceeding is not in fact off the table.  If it itemized statutes, though, then maybe it is.

When I say stuff like this, even though it’s true, I always get the stare from my client and you can tell they’re thinking, “fucking lawyers….”

Good stuff.  The federal criminal removal statute is rare and bizarre.  One of the more significant findings leading to this "remand" to state court is that Trump has no federal defense to the NY charges.

The fat orange sack of shit is getting his ass kicked at every turn.

was the idea here that if it was federal he could eventually pardon himself?

One of his main fears in the Manhattan case is a Manhattan jury.  Putting it in federal court would have gotten him an SD NY jury.  SD NY encompasses New York, Bronx, Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, and Sullivan counties, so maybe a skosh less Trump hatred than NY County.

ETA:  It's a helluva question, but it would seem that, because the offense charged and the charging entity are both state level, that it would remain a state offense for pardon purposes and unreachable by presidential pardon.

I thought it was 7 bankruptcies?  He technically bankrupted the same casino, twice.  Although it was two separate properties with slightly different GP groups, it was technically either the same license or same LP/C-Corp.

From former staffers to prior legal counsel to mass shooters mentioning him in their manifestos to the hundreds imprisoned for taking direction from him on January 6th who ended up convicted.  To those that died listening to his shitty advice on Covid, to those who sent their last few dollars to buy food and medicine instead to him for his "legal funds" only to have him pilfer 90% of it, to all the laid-off employees of his numerous failed business ventures to all the women who will die from pregnancy complications or questionable abortion methods due to the SCOTUS he crafted.

The injured, unemployed, emotionally scarred, destitute, jailed, and buried number of Americans left in Trump's wake will end up numbering at least in the hundreds of thousands.  Probably much more when all is said and done.  There are only a handful of other people in the history of this planet that can lay claim to anywhere near that number.  That's his legacy.  That's your God.  The suffering and regression that will take this nation decades to unpack, all in service to the ego of a man who wasn't worth a moment of thought.  Because for one shining moment, he made you feel unique and special.  Your battered woman's syndrome is going to make the lives of my daughters much more difficult.  I hope it was worth it, America.
