I'm guessing you are an older white male that is used to your tax dollars going to you, and no one else. You probably enjoyed government supported tuition like I did in the 90s when a years tution was $3k, and I could earn that working summers and holidays. You probably never got raped and had to carry your rapist baby to term. You probably never served and got exposed to toxic chemicals that created massive health problems for you and has the VA tell you to fuck off until a comedian steps in on your behalf. You probably didn't come here with your parents when you were two and have no rights or future assurances. You've probably never been beaten by a cop or threatened by a cop using racist language.

I'm sure it's been all wonderful for you and now its infuriating that you are going to have to play on a more equal playing field.

Get fucked troll. You are an embarrassment to My State and My University

Mine point here, but pretty sure that guy is...just a representation of our state at this point.

Several MAGA people have told me that they will not bother voting again because the elections are rigged. I do think casting doubt on the elections will keep a number of would be Republican voters away from the voting booth.

A lot of these fools genuinely believe the election was stolen and that belief has been reinforced by RW media for years. It just makes sense that a good portion of MAGA considers voting useless.

Generating voter apathy amongst your base just seems like a bad idea.

It works brilliantly for autocrats. The republicans seem to have missed an important step, however. At least for now.

This crap will go on until someone is murdered, and then the world will be crying "Why did they wait so long to DO SOMETHING?"     Throw his ass in jail NOW and let him sit there while his lawyers argue for his release, hopefully until he dies.

Uh, if our gun laws and mass shootings are any indication, no one is going to care when people actually die.

i have no idea wtf you guys are talking about anymore.  It's about Trump right? lol.

the choice of POTUS has very little effect on the average citizen , that's all, easy to understand.

Don't be such a dumbass. If Trump didn't win, we'd still have Dobbs. We'd at least have the mechanisms for reasonable gun control in the future. He fucked over the Supreme Court for the foreseeable future. The damage of which we're only just beginning to feel.

There would definitely be less people dead from COVID.

Oh, and maybe we wouldn't have irrecoverably lost millions of our friends and family down conspiracy theory rabbit holes.

The DA would be the one to charge him for that and not the judge. She isn’t pursuing that charge, probably because as a tampering case, that basis is weak as fuck.

Nope.  The judge in the case where he is out on recognizance will ask herself “Gee more likely than not, did he violate a statute? That’s the only standard required - he doesn’t have to be charged, he doesn’t have to be found guilty.  And the judge who makes that decision doesn’t have to be right about his ultimate criminal culpability.

And she does not have to look at that statement in isolation when days before he also said the entire system was corrupt Jack Smith was deranged, and the justice department was corrupt. In globo, that would arguably be enough, to me, that he’s constantly stirring shit trying to make potential jurors favor him over the prosecution - publicly - after being warned.    The judge needs to have a hearing, read him the riot act one more time ( for appeal purposes) and personally tell him again - the next time he says a comment about the integrity of her court or the DA or the goings-on of the criminal prosecutions he’s involved with, she is revoking bond.

He won’t care.  He can’t go a week, let alone a year, without commenting on this in the exact same way.

Here's a cunty filing by Trump, via Kise, in Florida.  They bitch that the order in Florida sets a pretrial motion hearing day on December 11, while the proposed schedule offered by the government in DC asks that jury selection commence on December 11.  That is a conflict, but I don't think it's the big hairy deal they make it out to be.  And, the fact is, Trump doesn't have enough lawyers, currently, to handle all the shit he's in, because he's such a pariah of a client.

https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/67490070/125/united-states-v-trump/

But the cuntiest thing about is they refer to Cannon as "Your Honor."  No one fucking does that in briefing.  It's "the Court."

Fucking lickspittles.

I was looking at the docket because today is the day for Nauta and Trump to opine on the propriety of using a DC grand jury for investigation of a pending case in Florida.  I'm waiting to see what kind of vaginal discharge comes of that.  (more casual misogyny, sorry ladies).

Following up on this, here's the filing about the Garcia hearing and use of two grand juries.  https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/67490070/126/united-states-v-trump/

First, it claims there's no need for a Garcia hearing to examine knowing waiver and attorney conflicts unless the attorney represents two DEFENDANTS, as opposed to a defendant and two witnesses, the case here.

Second, it claims, as we know from the Justice Manual cites I provided, that it is unlawful to use the same or a different grand jury to continue to investigate an already pending indictment and cites cases to that effect.  But it is unclear that that is what happened here.

Finally, though, it argues that the remedy for the grand jury violation should be to exclude the testimony of the conflicted witnesses that testified before the other grand jury.  This is an interesting bit of sleight of hand.

What we seem to know is that there is a witness, Individual 4, believed to be Yusil Taveras, who was represented by Stanley Woodward.  He changed counsel, became forthcoming, and is the prime witness against Nauta and DeOliveira that they attempted to destroy surveillance tapes.

HOWEVER, Individual 4/Yuscil Taveras is NOT believed to be one of the witnesses, still repped by Woodward, that is the "source" or cause for the Garcia hearing.

So, Woodward is trying to leverage this situation into excluding the testimony of Yuscil Taveras, which would seem to be key to the counts in the superseding indictment about deleting surveillance footage.

The government's response will be most interdasting.  As will be Cannon's ruling.

I also think they never really knew what they were voting for in the first place.  They were just angry about SOMETHING and the dotard gave them an outlet.  If they don't have that outlet (or the perception of one), why vote?

The well-to-do ones voted with their wallets for tax breaks etc.  The poor, white Trump supporters voted for him because, despite their station in life, Trump's not-so-subtle racism made them feel like, at the very least, they were better than those other people.

He offers no proof of or support for his HIGH INTELLIGENCE other than poll numbers.

That about sums this fucker up.  Poll numbers, ratings, money, all equate to HIGH INTELLIGENCE and all other desirable human traits and qualities.

To be fair, he didn't say he's the one with high intelligence. He's right that we've been clamoring for such a person. Either way, that fact has nothing to do with the rest of his post.

I don't think Trump told anybody not to testifiy, did he?  It's splitting hairs, but I believe Trump said that "He shouldn't [testify]."

Is a mobster telling a restaurant owner to do something when he says "it'd be a good idea to do this thing for me. It'd be terrible if something happened to this place"?

He shouldn't be commenting publicly at all about witnesses in his trial, right? Isn't that what he was expressly told not to do?

Beyond that, it seems to me he has so much more reach than the average "shut up pre-trial" defendant.  I mean, Trump could literally reach half the potential jury pool, if not more.  It feels like his standard for contempt or whatever should be even tighter.

Normally, yes, maybe.  Branson is kind of odd (have family that live in that area, have visited it a bunch).

But Oklahoma is building a $2 billion 1,000-acre theme park just a few hours away.

The American Heartland Theme Park.

Don't tell me Trump wouldn't want a piece of this entrance:

Gun control is more of a state issue than federal.  SCOTUS is valid but again and again, the effect on the average citizen is minimal.  Not sure about COVID to the extent people blame Trump.  Lastly, the idiots would still be idiots, obviously Trump gives them a global platform and brings them out in the open, but that "base" remains (as it does currently) Trump in/out office.

Really? You are going to double down?

Like it or not, Trump had a hand in whether or not his base got a shot, wore a mask, listened to good information, and generally took it seriously. Look at the death rates in Trumpy areas vs Biden areas. It diverged after the vaccine became widely available. Further, the more Trumpy it was the more they died. You can doubt it. Shit on the idea. Whatever you want to do. It doesn't matter. Graveyard don't lie.

I mean we have actually studied this shit. Your tax dollars paid for it. Like a lot of other parts of the social contract you benefit from.

Sweatergawd I thought I had seen some obtuse humans but it's still stunning when you run into it.

On the matter of Dobbs and any GOP President, I think you are right.

However, I wonder if a GOP president like, say Mitt Romney, might have been politically sophisticated enough to keep the utter loons off the bench and maybe be a bit careful about "getting what we wish for" in that department.
