It was Sandy Berger in the Clinton Administration who smuggled secrets in his socks. He was punished.

Here's the story on Clinton's sock drawer secrets, which I'd never heard of, from CBS. They weren't state secrets; they were tapes used for an oral history.

It's still a good bet that all that ex President Acuity remembered was the cat's name and secrets. Or, more likely, he was given accurate information and it all got mixed us as he was inventorying the stuff around him: man, cameras, chair, diaper...

Sandy Berger -- in 2003 -- stole and destroyed documents when he went into the National Archives related to the Clinton Administration and its poor decision making that facilitated 9/11 . He was more than happy to fall on his sword to ensure there could be no blame for Bill Clinton and, subsequently, preserve Hillary's political future.

After news of the probe surfaced, Berger acknowledged he left the National Archives on two occasions in 2003 with copies of documents about the government’s anti-terror efforts and notes that he took on those documents.

He said he as reviewing the materials to help determine which Clinton administration documents to provide to the independent commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks

And he was told repeatedly "Hey those don't belong to you. Give them back." And he didn't. Then he started lying about them, and having his goons move them around, loading them on planes and shit.

This is so fucking stupid.

The only thing we have going for us is the distant future joy of pissing on that traitors grave

Not gonna be able to.  It will be the centerpiece of The US Capitol II: Gold Plated MAGA Boogaloo.  We'll raze the current building, erect a new one that's covered in the cheapest gold plate available, then crowned with a red dome with a running electronic "Make America Great Again" slogan circling it in perpetuity, topped with a 50-foot tall gold statue of his Royal Donaldness; in the rotunda will be the giant tomb of Our Dear Leader, guarded by Trumpista Shock Troops (giant hats with big feathered gold "T" on top), visited as a sacred pilgrimage site by all free Americans (side note: the only Americans who will be free will be those who have signed a loyalty oath to the Trump family, Long May They Reign).

See....you think that we're going to win.  I think that you're wrong.

“If that’s the theory of the indictment, then there would be other officials who clearly would have run afoul of this provision as charged,” the judge said during an early exchange with Trump attorney Emil Bove.

This rotten motherfucker is not going to go to trial for anything.  It's all a fucking pipedream.

All of this is going to be strung along and will not see any sort of resolution before Election Day. If Biden wins, it's game on and Trump likely starts seeing some justice on some of this shit. If DOTARD wins, he'll wave his hand on Day 1 after taking office in Jan 2025 and it will all disappear like tears in the rain. Or a Mickey D's fart in the wind.

Oh ye of little faith.  You all have to have objectively noticed that while he's been stupid and in bad shape for decades, he's visibly and audibly worn down a lot in the last 12 months, no?  He's put a lot of weight back on, he's slurring words, confusing names and dates and information at every single speech/interview.  His coloring has changed.  His posture is worse than before.  He just looks and sounds substantially worse now than he did in the ~2 years after he left office when he was golfing and grifting.  He may not have a jury conviction by Election Day, but the idea is between him having to fundraise, plus campaign, plus do media, plus make multiple appearances at now four long-extended court-cases...that kind of schedule is brutal on a man of his age and heft.  His conscious brain may tell him it's all worth it, but his subconscious and his body don't seem to be agreeing with him.  He's running himself into the fucking ground.  Even with some little wins in two of the cases, the whole schedule and burden of legal subjugation is eating away at him even if he doesn't know it overtly.  None of this movement dies until he does.  And therein lies the rub.

Hide the Ketchup?  And get out the blow.  And the strippers.  And then more blow.  Maybe some Hennessey.  Certainly some 'ludes.  Shit's gonna drag out and probably result in not much, but this kinda shit is eating away at his subconscious which will eat away at his decaying body.  He'll put on a bold face and pout, but this is just another nail in his chest cavity.  Little by little, the man dies faster and faster every day.  Seriously, if anybody on here has leftover fireworks from 7/4 or 12/31, save them.  We'll need them soon.

But she said she can try again once all the evidence has been presented. So she’ll grant it then

Eh. Most motions to dismiss raise trial defenses, meaning the defendant can attempt to raise the same or similar issues at trial. This is not particularly out of the ordinary.

Interesting that Trump wasn't targeted in any of these four jurisdictions criminally and two jurisdictions civilly until he announced his run for president, isn't it?

Why did he have to announce he was running for President, if he was already the legitimate President serving out his second term?  Interesting, isn't it?

You do realize that for $100,000, I can get on the ballot in at least one U.S. state for President, commit widespread felonies, and then declare that I am immune from prosecution because I am being unfairly targeted politically for my alleged crimes as a candidate for high office?  This is really not a precedent you want to have set, or a path you want to walk down.  Or do I need to explain to you why Ford had to pardon Nixon despite Presidential Immunity?  You are out of your element here little man.  The timing unfolded as it did because we had to wait until he was out of office before even beginning to dream about planning to build the case.  Is it getting rushed up against the election at this point?  Absolutely.  You're right on that point.  Are we absolutely 100% in uncharted political waters because there's simply very little statute and zero caselaw precedent to guide the ship?  Goddamn right.  Is he gonna skate on most of this shit?  Yep.  Is the process going to cause him to die prematurely?  Fucking-A right it is.  Are you going to weep and mourn?  Yes, like a little bitch.  Am I doing to die of a mushroom-infused cocktail of Heroin, Molly, and Rum?  It's a risk I'm willing to take.

Goddammit. In looking up one of Trump’s new counsel, I read of another grotesque discovery fuckup (and attempted cover up) coming out of SDNY.

Thankfully, none of this seems attributable to Smiths teams.
