Gotta love the logic:

”Being convicted is going to fire up his base, the justice department is corrupt”

”Being found not guilty is going to fire up his base, the justice department is corrupt”

There is literally nothing you can say that will change their minds and pull them from the cult.  Beyond putting him out of reach forever, his death will be fascinating in seeing if anyone can fill that void for them.

As someone who enjoys watching pornography, likes presidential biographies, bribes my kids with desert for their cooperation, and then lies to their mom about said desert…. This hits close to home.

Being dead is going to fire up his base. The deep state had him murdered!

I don't know when or why but they will turn on him one day and act like they never supported him.

It will almost be as crazy as watching them suddenly be friends with Russia or against international trade...

Real question: why was he apparently allowed to just leave the courthouse after the verdict and go back to his stupid tower?  Why no handcuffs?  Would anyone else have been allowed to do the same?

Yeah, I'm thinking house arrest at the very most.  Given what I understand as the max time for these crimes, weighed with the extreme hassle and expense in incarcerating a former President and all the security and other accommodations that go into that, I don't see this judge sending him to prison for even a nominal amount of time.  In any event, he's still an orange fat fuck felon.

Is house arrest an option when the convicted felon is a Florida resident?

I think he posted a bond when he was indicted.  He's still covered by the bond until he is sentenced.

What's crazy is Ive meet icono in person...

Icono is my brother, just like the most of the rest of you are... Sometimes our brothers say and do things we wouldn't say or do, and we can't quite understand why.

Good thing for him, and for us, is Trump ain't gonna do shit aside from blow a few dollars.

At what point, when someone you claim is your brother, espouses thoughts and ideals that literally would result in the hurting of you and your family, do you stop viewing him as a brother and just a piece of shit?

One sign of how incredibly fucked up things are is that we just accept that if elected, Trump will terminate these cases, to the extent that he can.

That is so utterly corrupt that it is beyond comprehension.

Of all the fuckery Nixon got up to, it was the similar Saturday Night Massacre that sealed his fate, not the break-in, not the cover-up, not the tapes revealing same, but the attempt to short circuit proceedings against him.

Fuck Trump.  Fuck the GQP.  Fuck anyone who supports these notions.

I think the most fucked up part of this, by far, is that not only he, but other prominent elected officials, are repeating his lie that he wasn't allowed to testify in his own defense and that he wasn't allowed to call witnesses in his defense. Especially since a major news outlet is going with that lie and telling it to their viewers. It's by far the most egregious part of this and it's not even close.

Anyone who sleeps with pornographic actresses and then runs for president and pays them money to shut up and then fabricates expense records could have this happen to them!

Well, Trump is trying to explain it on social media

https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/112535601905420886

My bookkeeper called a “Legal Expense,” on the “tiny” description line of the Ledger, a “Legal Expense,” openly paid to my lawyer, at that time a fully accredited one. I was not involved in that designation, but what else would you have called it? It was, in fact, a LEGAL EXPENSE. That is the so-called “CRIME.” On top of that, I wasn’t allowed by the judge to use, in any form, the standard RELIANCE ON COUNSEL DEFENSE (ADVICE OF COUNSEL!). My lawyer, at the time, did virtually everything on the NDA (NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT), and I assumed that what he did was correct. I did nothing wrong, and frankly, there was nothing done wrong - NDA’s are standard, commonly used, and LEGAL. MAGA2024! WITCH HUNT! IF THIS CAN HAPPEN TO ME, IT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE!

While this statement is true, what you're failing to understand in the context of Icono is that he is keenly aware of what the party has become, and it's still not even remotely close to how right wing he wants it to be. He wants the Christian Taliban, full stop.

Not me.  I've never cheated on my wife, much less with a porn star.  It's remarkably easy to avoid the need to dole out hush money.

What he did wasn't illegal. The way he did it and why he did it made it illegal.

It's never the actual act that gets you in trouble. It's the cover-up. Fucking a porn actress? Completely legal. Using campaign funds for a payoff? Not so much.

Even the campaign funds for payoff is murky. What makes it clear is that he did it with intent to defraud/conceal from the public with campaign funds. It's a nuance that's important because money is money and it flows weird in these big messy orgs. This was intentional

Also, these were crimes committed before he was president, so why would presidential immunity be considered?

He figured out the reimbursement and signed the checks after he was president, while in the Oval Office, but yeah, the main acts were in October 2016.

What’s funny about Icono/ @Macklemore that he doesn’t understand, while he may not be the first to be deported under a Trump dictatorship, he will be second. Brown and having sucked cock for drugs, puts him in a class that actually may move him into the first category. He’s literally the poster boy for leopards eating faces party. It’s fucking hilarious.

Oh, where does that put Madison Cawthorne on the list?  Crippled, congressional cuck, sucks cock at coke fueled orgies

Dotard’s attorney is going on tv and blaming the prosecution for not calling witnesses that would have helped the defense.

He had sex with a porn star in 2006 and had Michael Cohen use his own money to pay her a month before the 2016 election to kill the story. Trump’s business records were falsified by then making payments to Cohen under the guise of it being a legal expense. This is what made it a felony, because he did it with the intent of influencing the election a month before the election when he had sex with her a decade prior.

I enjoy that he’s on social media this morning telling the world it’s completely okay to pay off a porn star to keep her from talking about their affair.

Once upon a time such things were frowned upon.  Or even the hint of impropriety.

Yeah that's what makes this illegal. Not actually paying her to stfu and go away that's totally fine and what they are leaning on. They are conveniently omitting the fact that he did this with intent to influence the election.

His lawyer may not have understood the charges based on his interviews. It's not that complicated but it is not straightforward either which leaves tons of room for the spin that's happening.

The only witness that could have possibly helped the defense was Dotard himself.  Also, couldn't the defense have called witnesses to poke holes in the prosecution's case?  I think the only people they wanted to call were election experts.  Blanche is a moron and a schill.
