Also, Caitlin Clark was nearly unanimously the ROTY. I wonder if Kirk Bohl’s had the one dissenting vote lol

The lone vote not cast for Clark went in favor of Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese. That vote kept Clark from becoming the WNBA's fifth-ever unanimous Rookie of the Year.

Clark's new hardware marks the second consecutive season the Fever have had a Rookie of the Year winner. Aliyah Boston, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 WNBA draft, was a unanimous winner of the award last year. She joined Tina Charles, Elena Delle Donne and A'ja Wilson as the only players ever to win the award unanimously.

Reese is such garbage. How did anyone vote for her?

she really is. that’s what’s so crazy. this is unprecedented. her entire rookie season narrative is based on the exploits of her college team. this is not magic and bird. this is bird and uwe blab. and yet, because of her team’s accomplishments at lsu, everyone is acting like angel reese is the luka to cc’s jokic. it’s asinine. angel reese is legitimately not a talented or efficient basketball player, yet she gets the star treatment because her college team was good, and because they played against/beat iowa. it’s so weird. only in women’s basketball.

exactly. everyone is mocking lebron for this, not praising him and bronny and pretending like this is some amazing achievement and not some contrived LeGM bs. finally you see the light.

Same goes for your hot WNBA takes about how these women who have done nothing but bounce a ball for a living might not be the smartest people alive.

Two of the five all-rookies from Chicago and they had a worse record than last year.  CC changed Indy from being a decade-long dumpster fire to being a playoff team.

As said by others in other ways, the one voter who went for AR over CC needs their mental faculties checked.

Now I agree that CC should have unanimous however there is context that you are missing.  There is a lot more turnover from yr to yr in the W.  The Sky lost three starters from last yrs team in the offseason in Kahleah Copper (a Finals MVP), Courtney Williams, and Alana Smith.     They traded away another during the season in Marina Mabrey.     In fact they only brought back two players from last yrs team and one (Elizabeth Williams) only played in 9 gms this yr.   They also fired their coach.   Using last yr's record as a comparison to how this yr's team performed is flawed thinking.

Further, the Sparks would have had two 1st team rookies too if Cam Brink didnt get hurt.   They also had a worse record this yr than last.

Exactly.  And then they replaced all of those good players with the worst shooter in the history of professional basketball and allowed her to shoot at a high volume to accumulate meaningless double-doubles.  Of course they were worse than the year before.
