Caitlin Clark …. Seriously

In seriousness - from what I can gather she kind of picked it up recently? Her swing isn't like LPGA level but it's pretty god damn good.

She loads up a little weird and her follow through isn't perfect but her release through the right side of her body is almost perfect.

I wonder if she could pull like some Romo, US Open tryout type shit.

Better than an Angel.Reese jump shot, though.

The attendance from just the games Clark appeared in account for 90% of the increased attendance in the regular season

WNBA Attendance Is 105% Higher When Caitlin Clark Plays

Key Highlights:

  • Caitlin Clark has caused attendance figures to jump 87% compared to opponent’s average home attendance

  • Clark has accounted for 33.5% of the total WNBA attendance in 2024

  • When Clark plays, WNBA games average 15,591 fans in attendance (+105%) compared to 7,645 fans when she is not in action

  • Indiana Fever average 36% more fans on the road (15,142) than any other WNBA team

  • The Las Vegas Aces are the only team that didn’t set their season-high in attendance with Clark in town but the defending champs have operated at max capacity for nearly every home game. When removing the Aces from the equation, Clark’s effect grew even bigger to a whopping 137% compared to when she’s not in action.

  • No. 2 overall pick Cameron Brink and the L.A. Sparks are next on the list, drawing an average of 11,104 fans on the road. Meanwhile, fellow rookie Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky are third on the list with an average of 10,365 fans in attendance on the road.

This year's WNBA Finals has served as an appropriate final set piece to a tremendous 2024 season across the board in the W, and Wednesday night's Game 3 was the best yet. In fact, it was one of the great WNBA Finals games in the history of the league—according to the ratings, that is.

On Thursday ESPN announced that Game 3's 80-77 New York Liberty win over the Minnesota Lynx averaged 1.4 million viewers and peaked at two million, which makes it the most-viewed WNBA Finals game in over 20 years on any network.

with a smaller ball; and a closer 3 point line; against women who should be working for the post office and apartment complex leasing offices; and she’s a top 5 player…

yeah, the wnba product is totally legit, just outstanding basketball.

Ionescu is not a top 5 player. Top 15-20ish and there's a pretty big falloff after the top 5.

G5 was the worst game of the series. They all looked dead. Makes me wonder what a 7 game Finals will look like.

i watched the last 4 minutes and OT of the title game. both the in court product and the officiating were dreadful. this sport is just plain bad, there’s no two ways about it.

While I certainly agree with how poor the play was, especially at clutch moments (honestly, it just looked like eight year olds trying to drive, passing back out, and then jacking up random shots), Stewart arguably did not have control of the ball at any moment during the first three or so steps. It was contested and then bobbled twice. I'll try to find the angle from the baseline. I thought for sure it was a missed travel call until they showed another replay angle on the broadcast. Once I saw it, I was less sure. Regardless, it seemed obvious that the WNBA wanted New York to win.
