Non-Texas recruiting: 2020

I've seen all state guys end up at Arkansas Tech.  Finishing all district doesn't mean a guy has a decent chance of going smaller D1.

247 is probably your best bet.  They track pretty much anyone close to getting a D1 offer. If someone isn't on there by their senior year, they likely aren't going D1.

I've done that for one kid, and got nothing.  He's 6A all-district, too.  (I'd rather not get into names for a couple of reasons.)

Not a big deal, just trying to see what kind of upside some guys might have.

You can also see if the kids have their profile setup on HUDL and also NCSA. A lot of kids that aren't high enough profile for 247, Rivals, ESPN will have HUDL and NCSA. Some coaches will do it for several guys on their roster if they have several kids that are looking to get seen. It's kinda scammy and shit but for a lot of people, esp in non-revenue sports, it's a decent resource to be able to build a profile on.

hey catalon, how's the decision working out for you?  did herman "lose" any other recruit to morris/arkie?

We missed on Kam Curl in the transition class: https://247sports.com/Player/Kamren-Curl-90194/

He at least keeps getting the "wow the whole team is hot fucking garbage except Curl. He's good." treatment.

Also in 2016 we badly wanted McTelvin Agim and Devwah Whaley:

Herman tried to flip some LB from them late in the 2018 cycle from them but he ended up sticking with his commitment.

Courtre Alexander: https://247sports.com/player/courtre-alexander-46039342/

They also got Bumper Pool in that class, but he was born and bred Pig despite being from Dallas: https://247sports.com/player/bumper-pool-86603/

I really wanted Whaley. At this point, I can't even tell if any of the guys that they took were worth the fucking bullets from Texas in the first place. If you're a contributor on a team that cannot beat San Jose State, how good are you, really?

Once a man that young has a shoulder dislocation (not AC separation as in most of the “dislocations” that have come up lately), he is at high risk to go on to recurrent dislocations. Bummer for the guy.

Yep, happened to me 15 years ago and I dislocate it almost every year.

Will that be the case with jalen green as well?

My best guess is that Green’s injury is actually an AC separation (like Sam had last year) based on my recollection of watching the play on which he was hurt. If I’m wrong and it is a “true shoulder” (glenohumeral) dislocation, Green would be at such risk as well.

Are there surgeries available to athletes to help prevent future glenohumeral dislocations? Why not (a technical answer is fine)?

Yes, there are. Sometimes the anatomic deficiency is clear and amenable to treatment such as a well-defined Bankart lesion. Sometimes capsuloligamentous structures are attenuated less focally and the surgery trades risk of loss of some range of motion for reduced risk of dislocation by tightening up the anterior joint capsule. For a young male athlete, a lot of orthopedists would pursue surgery after just one dislocation.

I'm not sure this problem is unique to California. Finding big dudes these days is a problem all over the country.

Nobody's creating defensive tackles well ... Defensive tackle is a problem in America right now. I'm not making excuses for us, we gotta get big defensive tackles better.

Gone already. What was it?

Weird, guess his info was wrong:

So #Arkansas has offered class of 2023, 2026, and 2029 guys tonight.... All younger siblings or relatives of 2020/21 recruits. Honestly surprised we haven’t seen this more in today’s crazy age of recruiting.

I wouldn’t mind bringing back the Piggy rivalry. It’s an automatic win against a SEC team and former rival.

What’s the best case scenario for Arky Chad’s program? Maxing out at 7 wins?

Well in two years you're going to be a very happy boy
