Jesus fuck. Well that explains why my drunken fuck Ted Cruz post in the A&M game thread went over like a sack of bricks. (Well, that and I stupidly made it a little CR by referencing trans kids.)

I figured that even the people that feel like they have to vote for him still hate his ass. Nope. Must be his impressive Twitter game.

According to that link, 16% of Democrats approve of Ted. Shows you how much of the electorate is uninformed. I don't understand what criteria some use in these polls. "Uh, I'm alive so I guess my senator is doing a good job."

I want to hope that Cruz is in trouble but we always run into a blue mirage that disappears as you get closer to it.

Abbott has recently been cutting and running ads for Cruz, and I don’t recall that last time.

And the Cruz ad spends are ramping up, so there’s something going on. I’ve been seeing them all over sports shows and YouTube.

I wish another tree branch would fall on Abbott.

You are talking shit to a bot, bro.

If you respond/interact, you might get humans, which makes sense - they might think your an old person and they want to engage the olds and get money from them.

Fair amount of speculation that Cruz is the weak link in the GOP chain in terms of losing a seat. I could see other senate campaigns sending over money to help him.

I've had a sense the past few years that Abbott wants little to do with Cruz, given all of the fuckups that Cruz has managed to pull off. For Abbott to film himself supporting Cruz/attacking Allred kind of surprised me the first time I saw it last week.

Agree. Few Texas politicians like sharing a stage with Cruz. But Cruz obviously has relationships with them since he came from state govt.  Greg Abbott appointed him to state solicitor general.

I'm always reminded of the Al Franken quote: "I like Ted Cruz more than any of the my [Senate] colleagues, and I hate Ted Cruz."

Nobody likes Ted Cruz, but especially since Greg Abbot’s presidential aspirations still live there are no depths to which he will not sink. Understand this- he 100% would have run this year had Trump not cleared the field and if Harris wins he seems himself as a potential front runner for the GOP nod in 2028.

Allred should film an ad with him lifting weights, looks at the camera and says “So Greg Abbott, you want some of this too?” Then flex like a mf.

His colleagues don’t even like him. They aren’t sending him money

Not a chance that’s correct. Doubtful 16% of Texas pubs like Cruz.
