No kidding.

Reading the article you linked, it doesn’t seem as if they were estranged.

But fuck that dude for airing his issues through a media outlet and then when the inevitable follow up questions start pouring in he gets all indignant about being in the media.

YOU STARTED IT ASSHOLE .

Yeah but when your daughter and her underlings put (at the least) dozens of people away in JAIL for something you casually joke about, I think a very strong response is warranted.  Even if I spent a couple months for a few joints, I’d be beside myself.  WTF

Sure, I’m 100% fine with those people speaking out.

But her father isn’t blabbing to the press for any other reason than he’s pissed she joked about her Jamaican heritage in reference to weed.

He’s not talking about incarceration or drug policies.

Plus, it’s her dad. I’d assume he at least has her email address. Take it up with her privately. Don’t blast ya business to a newspaper. That’s shitty.

Rumors around the twittersphere is that Biden will announce Stacy Abrams (the elected governor of Georgia according to Stacy Abrams) as his running mate early.

I’ve heard the same rumor and I don’t buy it at all.  This is a publicity stunt rumor and shadow campaigning.  It’s savvy AF but also kinda cheap at the same time.

If Biden wins the nomination, I’m all but certain Kamala Harris will be his running mate.

NOOOO, she needs to run for Perdue's senate seat here in Georgia. She would absolutely help drive turnout again especially in a presidential year.

Biden jumping in with a running mate already screams "Hey, I'm like Ted Cruz, I'm desperate. Here's Carly, I mean, Stacy!"

A guy who doesn't like Beto going to work for a guy running against Beto isn't weird, and I have a feeling you guys aren't going to make sure to vet all of Beto's staffers to make sure they never criticized Bernie.

It's not weird, it just makes those articles laughably transparent.

lol

Bernie Bros have literally doxxed private citizens for asking Bernie tough questions but we’re supposed to be cool with this kind of hire.

Please, if a “journalist” were to write an article about Bernie not being a real democrat and highlight his bad votes on gun control AND then a few months later take the senior comms position on Beto’s campaign, I’m SURE the Bernie Twitter Bros would be all “that is totes fine just a coincidence”.

They weren't already? The headlines are basically, "I Hate Beto O'Rourke And Here's Why".

Or is the implication that Bernie was coordinating Sirota's articles?

Clearly we need more hit pieces in the media on Bernie from democrats.

Some nobody that none of you had even heard of until today wrote some critical articles and you're pretending that the Democrats haven't been going after Bernie for years at this point? Are you awake? Hello? The DNC coordinated against Bernie for the entire 2016 primary and formally apologized to Sanders because their staffers were constantly attacking him.

The DNC conspired to attack Bernie over whether or not he was Jewish enough in the hopes it would hurt him among religious primary voters.

You live in a Bizarro world.

What does the first half of this sentence have to do with the second?

We'll see. Beto pulling from Bernie might make that less likely, however.

And where did you find out about Bernie's "bad votes on gun control"? Right-wingers?

If Sirota lied about something then that's a big deal. If he's just been attacking a guy he doesn't like... call me when the actual party machine is secretly conspiring to attack Beto about his religion.

I’m sure if it were to turn out things were rigged in Bernie’s favor this go around you would be the first to condemn it.

Which of the two is worse? Rate them 1-10 on a scale.

1) A campaign hiring a guy who has written attack pieces about the voting record of a rival.
2) A political party organizing against one of the candidates in its primary, including planning to attack his religion.

I'll say 2 and 8.

I don't know where you get the idea that the DNC would rig the primary in favor of Bernie, but you seem to be a fan of delusion.

It’s funny watching you play the victim card on Bernie and ridicule others for not taking responsibility.  If Bernie was so screwed over the last time, why the fuck would he run again?  I’m sure you’ll tell me it’s because he’s fighting the good fight or something.  At least Hillary knew when to hang it up after getting fucked over.

Good thing Hillary never lost a democratic primary and then ran again. That would be ridiculous.

Let's be real, the Bernie bros would be losing their fucking minds if Beto did this.

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2019/03/sanders-promised-civility-hired-twitter-attack-dog/585259/

Shortly before he gave speeches launching his 2020 campaign earlier this month, Bernie Sanders emailed his supporters, urging them to “do our very best to engage respectfully with our Democratic opponents—talking about the issues we are fighting for, not about personalities or past grievances. I want to be clear that I condemn bullying and harassment of any kind and in any space.”

What he didn’t include was that one of the people already advising him and helping him write those launch speeches is one of his most famously aggressive supporters online.

Since December, David Sirota has, on Twitter, on his own website, and in columns in The Guardian, been trashing most of Sanders’s Democratic opponents—all without disclosing his work with Sanders—and has been pushing back on critics by saying that he was criticizing the other Democrats as a journalist. He centered many of his attacks on Beto O’Rourke, but he also bashed Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Joe Biden, Kirsten Gillibrand, Michael Bennet, John Hickenlooper, Mike Bloomberg, and even Andrew Cuomo.

This doesn't make any sense. You're rambling.

He tried again because he wants to win.

@Bama Chick

That Briahna Gray tweet doesn't say what the VOX writer says it does. She says they pushed the angle of Russian hacking for political gain, which is true. It doesn't say anything about an "inside job".

I don't care that David Sirota deleted tweets. Can someone please tell me what he did wrong?

Did Sirota do any "bullying or harassment"? Is it bullying/harassment to criticize candidates? Did he help write the launch speeches?

Criticism isn't violence.

And no, the Bernie Bros wouldn't. As mentioned above, we've seen far worse.

You shit on Hillary every chance you get and ridicule the Russia stuff as if it didn’t happen or doesn’t matter while complaining the primary was rigged against Bernie.

I’m not sure what makes Bernie or his supporters feel so entitled that they should be able to waltz into the DNC and expect to be treated as Hillary’s equal in a primary.  There was some foul play working against him but what did he expect?  Everyone working their entire careers in the party to just remain hands off in helping Hillary?  Yeah, okay.

If I all of a sudden switched parties and tried to take it over I’d expect some strong opposition forces from the party loyalists on the inside.  Bernie was given an opportunity to overcome the deck stacked against him and he almost pulled it off but at the end of the day more people voted for Hillary.

Yet, here we are talking about how Bernie was treated so unfairly.  Gimme a break.

Nothing was more shrill than that op-ed titled "Beto 2020 has no reason to exist."

That actually reminded me of some Hillary supporters' attitude toward Bernie in 2016..."Stay out of this old man, it's HER turn, dammit!"

I'm not a Sirota fan, but the worst I'm seeing from him here is that he criticized the non-Bernie candidates in a way that isn't kind.

That's not harassment. That's not bullying. Sorry, World Cup Floppers, but you don't get a red card because someone is uncharitable towards Beto.

I am happy to see evidence of Sirota doing something that is actually inappropriate.

Hillary sucks and I will always laugh at and mock her as I have for decades. She's garbage and I have no idea why you're bringing her up.

And "the Russia stuff" did happen, it's you and your paranoid conspiracy building without evidence that I ridicule.

The primary was absolutely rigged against Bernie, as evidence by the DNC e-mails and the DNC chair's own admission. Elizabeth Warren agrees. You're bad at this, but keep going.

Wait... so was the primary rigged or not? You seem to be talking out of both sides of your mouth here.

"No, it wasn't rigged, but if it was then good!"

Am I misreading you?

I'm not the one who brought this up. Read the thread. It's the Beto fans trying to make the hiring of some campaign staff sound like Pizzagate.

The Beto 2020 thing on slate was by a dude named Jason Voorhees. Not sure what his axe is. With Sirota, you at least made the connection that he was in Bernie's camp (in 2016) and turned his eyes to what he perceived as a formidable challenger in Beto.

It's kinda shitty for Sirota to have been shadow-campaigning for Bernie while working as a reporter and not disclosing that he was already essentially part of Bernie's campaign rather than an impartial commentator or even simply an enthusiastic but unaffiliated supporter. He absolutely misled people about that and that's why he just deleted his entire twitter history. It's not something that hasn't been done numerous times before, but that doesn't make it less shitty and he was sort of a prick when he was pretending he wasn't working with Bernie, so now that that turns out to have been a lie it makes his prickish behavior look even worse.

I like Bernie and he's good and the OG and still cool etc. etc. but it's not a good look for him to be running for the Democratic nomination, which will require more Democratic support than he got last time, while hiring people who refused to vote for Hillary against Donald Trump. Yes, Hillary sucked. No, a vote for Jill Stein instead of Hillary is not remotely defensible and fuck those assholes with rusty pitchforks.

What I'm saying is that BT needs to get on the Mayor Pete bandwagon.*

It wasn’t rigged but I know you can’t see it that way because it was your guy.  A shitty analogy would be Hillary as Alabama at home while Bernie was the visiting non conference McNeese St.

McNeese St. almost pulled off a miraculous upset but the resources and loyal fan base of the Gumps were just too much at the end.

It wasn’t a fair competition but the game wasn’t rigged.

Except that the timeline makes no sense. Why on earth would Bernie hire someone who writes articles supporting him and criticizing his opponents? Sirota clearly had to be a mole that comrade Sanders (or his handlers in Moscow) implanted as a mole journalist (a molulist) to destroy Hillary Beto. It's the only explanation that makes any sense.
