Mush brain vs Trump.

Proceed to the ledge. I'm not even a Bernie bro but that's depressing.

I'll vote Biden, but was hoping we could find a candidate that wasn't so close to Trump in terms of dementia. At least Biden isn't a criminal and he probably won't surround himself with criminals and white supremacists, so that's a plus.

Biden was pretty chummy with an actual KKK man, Senator Grand Kleagle Byrd.

Isn’t he also buddies with the Virginia blackface/Klan Robe Governor?

Johnny we get it, you support Trump and are a republican through and through. Stop trolling people in this thread - you are free to talk about the nominee and the potential nominee and how it gets there, but let's quit it with the straight up trolling.

Biden or Bernie are both going to present fertile ammo for Trumps. With Biden, he gets to play the hits with Burisma and Hunter. With Bernie, it's all socialism is going to rape your wife and eat your children the whole time. I think what's ultimately going to be Trump's undoing will be the economy tanking due to Corona. The Fed shot their wad today with the emergency rate cut. And that was before the real supply chain emergency gets here. When more people die in mass, that will be on Trump. The ammo for either Democratic nominee is they can hit back on how terrible Trump's response has been and will be. In addition to how shitty he is in general.

This assumes a Democratic nominee who is able to clearly articulate these attacks/critiques.

So Trump is going to throw out all of his typical demeaning nicknames, wild conspiracy theories, and whatever other bs we are all now used to hearing and seeing. Why does it matter?

The idiots that support him will continue to do so because they are unintelligent. Everyone else sees thru that bs now. In 2016 it was seen by some as “fellomg it like it is”, but now intelligent people see it for the lying that it is. It won’t matter. The sides are aligned. There is only a very small voting block in the swing vote that would be swayed by debate bantering. Everyone else is locked in. Biden could shit his pants on stage and I’m voting for him.

Where is the evidence of Sanders' supposed ability to expand the electorate and get out the vote?  Because we really haven't seen it in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, or South Carolina.  And we really didn't see it in his 2016 run, either.  And there's no empirical evidence to indicate that non-voters or infrequent voters are more liberal than regular voters.  Actually, the evidence indicates the opposite.

Your problem in Texas--and in those 40 House districts that we flipped in 2018--is that the liberal vote isn't very big.  It's not enough to win in Texas, and it's not enough to win in those districts.  You need a coalition of liberals and moderates (and, gasp--even a few conservatives) to win.  And Sanders is a stick of dynamite that will blow up that coalition.

You may get your liberal vote--though there's no indication that it'll be much higher than normal--but that's a path toward minority status in the Texas Legislature and in the U.S. House of Representatives.

I know the sleeping giant of the Tejano vote has somewhat deserved its reputation for disappointing in the past but that will change either by attrition or an upsurge of participation or both. That is the base of the Texas Democratic party -- blacks and white liberals need to accept that. And don't understimate Asians in suburbia either -- they flipped Fort Bend County, not Californian migrants.

Trump brought a lot of new, previously disengaged voters into the fold under with his outsider/everyman bit. Bullshit, obviously, but people bought it, and as we see now his base has become a full on cult with few defections in four years.

Yes, his base is static and we generally know what the target is for democratic votes. And yes, some will turnout to vote against him. But there are plenty of voters are Trump voters first and foremost, and just vote R for the rest because it's the same letter.

We squabble and shitpost about Bernie and Biden, but the fact is Democrats need to do all of keeping suburban voters in the tent, make up some ground with working class whites, and increase turnout amongst minority and young voters to really succeed. I think that's a major part of why tensions are so high right now. Neither Bernie or Biden have made it obvious that they're capable of all three, and people are on edge because of it.

The Biden-Clinton wing will not make any headway with working class whites and Trump will do his level best to blunt minority turnout by both fair means and foul. He is seriously messaging blacks with "the Mezkins are taking your jobs and the Dems don't care" and like it or not that will resonate in some quarters. And he is going to harp on Biden's proud ownership of the crime bill and his dealmaking with the old Dixiecrats. None of this will be enough to flip the black vote by any means, but it will be enough to dent the margin and depress turnout.

He was quoting Biden. Is he not a potential nominee?

Looks the Senate Reps and Trump will have to start back up their Biden investigation.  It’s the one they started when he was the front runner but stalled when he wasn’t getting votes.  Not politically motivated, though......

Has he ever said why his loser crackhead son was making at least a million bucks a year from a Ukranian gas company owned by a corrupt Oligarch?

Same reason Don Jr is selling books by the truckload and Ivanka is getting overseas patents.  You know that, though, right?

Dude...that's what the GOP brings to the table.  That IS their political dialogue these days -- trolling.  It's their fucking brand.  You might as well tell them not to breathe.

Donald won in 2016 because his opponent was a bland moderate who nobody in the Dem base had any excitement over. But the posters on this board who are actually, truly suggesting they would vote for kids in cages over SoCiaLisM!! are more important to court than the base.

There are also posters on this board
who are actually, truly suggesting they would vote for kids in cages over CeNTriSm and “neoliberals” and “shitlibs”........the asshattery cuts both ways.

Who knows?  Maybe he needed a job?

And I thought it was $50,000 a month?  Do y'all actually know how much he was making or do you just throw out a random number every time you want to bring it up?

You make a good point, but I think there's an important counterpoint to be made. I'm not saying this to disagree, just to express where I'm coming from.

A moderate, safe choice may get elected and stop the kids in cages, and we'll all breathe a sigh in relief (including me). But that person might very well not go far enough, because kids in cages will still be "okay" unless the GOP is held accountable.

This primary has made me really stop and think about what's the most important thing I want accomplished with this election. I realized that while I don't love the notion of our next president being center of the road on policy issues, I could actually live with that if they are committed to helping our democracy heal. And I don't mean mamby pamby appeasement that moderates indulge in. I mean undoing voter suppression tactics, foreign interference in elections, investigating and prosecuting GOP corruption, cleaning up the judiciary, etc. Ultimately, after this shit show, I want to see the GOP annihilated as an organization that carries any political influence whatsoever.

The wrong Democratic candidate will say the right things while campaigning and ultimately accomplish little in office. The ideal candidate will mobilize the entire country around an agenda that will put an end to voter disenfranchisement, restore the rule of law, etc. Of course, nobody's perfect, and none of these candidates are the ideal candidate. To me, the closest to that ideal was Bernie. In November, it will be whoever the Dems put on the ballot. But if it's Joe Biden, I fear we'll have to wait eight years for another chance to heal this thing, and by then, it'll be too late.

So the night is only half over, but can somebody show me a place where Bernie has won 40% of the vote in a place where people vote like a normal democracy instead of arguing in gyms like an internet poll?

If you’re going to be the party leader at some point don’t you have to fuck at the polls like it? Maybe have some Mo?

The sack has taken a firm stand that the sons of rich people like hunter Biden should not be just given money for doing absolutely nothing. Unless you are talking about successful Texas based grocery stores. Then its ok.

Warren staying in is fucking Bernie hard. But the outcome tonight is definitely what is best for the party. Biden is going to go to convention with either the delegates or a slight lead and the Bernie bro’s won’t be able to say bernie was screwed. Then it’s just about uncle joe and the don.

Who started putting the migrants in cages?

Who built the cages Donald immediately started using?

Huh?  Warren is 4th or 5th in most states. The story tonight is Bloomberg fucking Biden.  Biden is sweeping tonight with no Bloomberg.
