The Quest chips have some decent flavors, but have the texture of cardboard.  But those gainz, tho . . . .

Yeah that's why I like to mix them with the popcorn to kind of get the flavor and then the popcorn texture helps it out.

3 ingredients.  Same goes for Lays, just a different plant.

The Old Dutch All Dressed are where it's at, but you have to Canada to get 'em.

The Ruffles All Dressed they sold here for a couple years were pretty good. These Lays are super tangy, closer to Zapp's Voodoo

They still make those in Canada, and I agree that they're quite good.

All Dressed demands a heftier chip than the normal Lay's cut.  Ruffles are up to the task.

"Italian Red Meat Flavor"?  We've crossed the rubicon.

Mexican Chicken Tomato Flavor is just this, right?

Ugh. My Mom bought that shit for us when I was a kid. I should have known something was up because she NEVER bought junk.

I didn’t question it. I fucking found out that day.

Yeah, my mom did the same.

My recollection is that they actually tasted the exact same, so on that front I guess it worked?  I'd be curious how many fewer (if any) calories those things had.

And yes, I fucking found out.  I made it to the toilet, but I found out.

Gotta feed a bunch of family members on the cheap?  Sloppy joes and a big bag of those.

These were a welcomed surprise. I expected them to taste like a lamer jalapeno chip, but they and were quite good.

Well, the HEB kettle cooked jalapeno chips are top-notch, so that wouldn't be all bad.

Anyone tried the new Cajun wavy limited edition chips?  Those look tasty.

Oh yeah, I would've been happy with that honestly. They were more "poblano-ey" than I expected, in a good way.

Have we talked about the Walburg Travel Center outside of Georgetown? That place is low key a Mexican chip mecca with about 100 options. I have no idea how or why but it's a goldmine. Got some basics yesterday on the way home from the Austin FC game.

Next time you’re at 99 Ranch, splurge and get these. Trust me, they’re insane.

When you said splurge, I didn’t know you meant a $23 bag of chips!  But by the time I got to the 99 ranch, I was already all in. Damn tasty though!

Russet potatoe sliced on a mandoline. Rinse with water a few times to remove excess starch. Pre boil them in water with a little vinegar for 3 minutes. Dry off, I normally put them uncovered in the fridge to help this. Fry em up with oil around 375. Salt and pepper as soon as they are done.  The last batch for me I seasoned with Tony C's. Only make them every ounce in a while due to the whole process.  Also made fried pickles. They were gone too fast for pictures.
