I'd rather Tulo be one of the three paid assistants under the next head coach. I think he'd be a real asset on the trail and with hitting/defensive development.

Yep. He was a real asset as a volunteer assistant for Pierce on the coaching side of things. I don’t want a guy that hasn’t been a head coach at any college program being the next coach at Texas.

I think we need a coach that has won a national championship.   In the mold of Savage, Corbin, O'Sullivan, not another Pierce in waiting...  Tulo would not be a good hire as he has very little experience at this point.

Tulo would be a worse hire than the feel good story of Rodney Terry.

Vaughn at Bama would be a super good recruiter and is a good coach. Canham and Bakich are great too.

I hate the guy but Vitello is a hell of a recruiter but again fuck that guy.

Bama's old coach Bohannon is available.  Plus, he would lobby for casinos in Texas.  Win-win.

You gotta stop being up Savage. What has he done since that national championship? Oh right. Nothing.

Is Schlossnagle an option…or is that a “Hell no”?

He may call in sick tonight.

If we go after Schloss, we damn well better get him. If we try and he says no, the ags will never stfu about it.

Not only that, but I cant take anyone seriously that  would voluntarily take a job in CS. That aggy stank is never coming off. There's gotta be a better option.

He is. Was an assistant there and at arkansas.

I haven't been following the team as closely this year so can someone succinctly explain why everyone is so up in arms against Pierce? Seems like he has been good other than this year. 3 CWS appearance, pretty much always top 10.

I like the Clemson coach Bakich if he does get canned. Comes from the Corbin school, took a Big 10 to a runner up finish, now doing well at Clemson. But first get ATM to give Schloss a Jimbo-level contract lol

Sounds like the JT pitching experiment will continue.    Second link is another game article.   Pierce is well protected by the AAS, LHN, and Radio Broadcast.  LHN "Game Plan With David Pierce" is scheduled at 7PM tonight if interested.

"I'm trying to win. The reason why is because I think he's a kid that can help us just like Cade, just like (Whitehead)," Pierce said after the UTRGV game. "At the end of the day, we're trying to win baseball games and I'm not going to sit and watch the same stuff happen without trying to explore all of our different options. I really think JT's an option."

"JT is a good pitcher, I'm telling you," Pierce said. "It wasn't perfect, but we've got a lot of baseball to play after that. I'd much rather have done it tonight to start versus his first time in a leverage situation. He has toughness, he has grit and he'll figure things out."

From the stands it looked like he had some decent stuff. He certainly didn’t look too bad compared to all the guys we sent in after him. Was he touching 90 with his FB?

Twenty-four of his 39 pitches were strikes. When it came to velocity, none of his' pitches hit 90 miles per hour on the radar gun. He mostly sat in the 80s, and dipped into the high 70s a few times.

So he’s basically ident to the vast majority of our staff. Really hard to justify risking an elbow or shoulder injury

No one on here will give you a good answer to that.  This pitching staff blows. But people forget real fast about the 2020 pitching staff under Pierce.  Elder, Madden, Hanson, Stevens… That was a CWS staff.

Marv Levy went to 4 super bowls. If the measure is getting into the dance then sure, erect the DP statue. I for one don’t want to just get to the dance. I want to dump my date, go home with the prom queen and make the prom king watch me take her back to the hotel. I want a coach that just flat out coaches and has the ability to  acquire the best portal talent, oh, and also one that fucks.
DP’s Napoleonic bullshit has worn off. Let’s just move on.

We have a bunch of chunkers, not pitchers. Aggravating

^^^^^ This

Velocity dont mean shit if you the opposing hitters aren't worried about you coming near the strike zone.

Do we have anyone who can locate 3 pitches?  It seems like everyone is FB, S or FB CB. I know LBJ tries to throw a SF sometimes.  Whitehead maybe?

Work fast, change speeds, throw strikes …

—Ray Miller

Working fast keeps the fielders on their toes.  Changing speeds keeps the hitters off of theirs.  Throwing strikes is self-evident.  Velocity was never a primary factor.

No, I agree with you DD, he ain't coming here and we're not even gonna try.  I just wanted to take a shot at CS and you offered it up on a platter.

If anyone for a second thinks Schlossnagle is leaving there and what they have going to come here, you are losing your mind faster than David Pierce.

He has them in third place in the SEC. That’s great!

Currently tied for second in the Big 12. With OU and OSU over next few weeks, this team has a real chance to win the Big 12.

Pitching is still weak, but made a big step forward this weekend. Grubbs, Whitehead and LBJ all performed well. Hopefully they are figuring it out.

TCU’s offense is terrible.

Yeah, there's nothing to really take away from beating a bad offensive team 2-1 in a series - especially for the pitching staff. We'll find out what they're made of the next four series. None of OU, OSU, UCF, or KU are bad squads.
