RFK Jr. off the chain and off his rocker

I’m not sure he gets confirmed. They can only lose 3 Rs assuming that all of the D senators vote no.

He’s a pro-choice legacy Democrat. I’m most likely going to be disappointed when the 20 R Senators who know RFK has no business in this role flip coins to see who gets to cast the 3 no votes allowing the couch fucker to break the tie.

Stuff I heard during the election

"I'm voting for Trump because he's funny!" 21 year old on TV, voting for President the first time.

"The American people or voting for Trump because they want a leader." Long time conservative friend of mine.

"I'm voting for Trump because he said he's eliminating taxes on Social Security. I know I said he shouldn't run again after Jan. 6, but what's our choice?" Another long time friend of mine.

"I vote for one issue - abortion." Another long-time conservative friend

"I can't vote for her because I don't want to listen to that voice and laugh for 4 years."

Think how easily that could have been overcome by just the right messaging from Dems about actual policies. It's not the electorate that's the problem; it's the Dem's messaging.

I’ll save you any suspense, he’s in. He appeared on stage with trump down the stretch multiple times. Hegseth was a nobody without any clout and they rolled over for him.

This right here.  And it's going to go that way down the line.  Gabbard may be the only one it doesn't, but I'm doubtful even then.

The first two typical no's are women. Collins and Murkowski. I think falling back on figuring out chronic illness and kids gets him through. They won't vote no. There's a sizable female contingent that vocally wants this guy in there.

It sucks that the health of our country has become so shitty that a guy like this is seen as a viable alternative to try anything to change course.

He's not. At least by any serious person. He's been picked because he kissed the ring and is anti-Vax, which became a pillar of the GOP platform in 2020. Nothing more, nothing less.

False dilemma

There was a hill fort in the wilderness. There a man stood ready to die defending it. Twas misty and hard to tell, but is that man RomaVicta or Sawbonz? Twas long ago.

Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!

Nothing beside remains.

I take your point. Not worth arguing the whys; we ended up here regardless

I do prefer Wordsworth to Shelley though. Something to calm your soul

I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er vales and hills,

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host, of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the milky way,

They stretched in never-ending line

Along the margin of a bay:

Ten thousand saw I at a glance,

Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they

Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:

A poet could not but be gay,

In such a jocund company:

I gazed—and gazed—but little thought

What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,

They flash upon that inward eye

Which is the bliss of solitude;

And then my heart with pleasure fills,

And dances with the daffodils.
