It's not sustainable and the weather is going to be horrid. Way too early, this is far from that simple.

Right - but the weather benefits the leader.

I have little faith in Harman closing it out - but he's in an unreal spot after 36 right now.

We'll see if Fleetwood can get something going here.

What are the odds for a birdie on #18 for Spieth??

Maybe 20-1 😋

Downwind par 5, hopefully better than that.

Whelp... Guess not.

Starting to rain now. Tomorrow is going to be fun to watch.

Scottie +4 with 2 holes left.

Did not see this coming

Shocked as well. He has so many ball flights working for him that this kind of setup should favor him but alas... They've mentioned it a few times on the broadcast but his feet do look extra shifty this week and his short range putting is going as poorly as usual.

17 and 18 are making boys out of men out there this week. 18 is interesting though because it can be had - it actually scored under par today - but if you miss you can fuck yourself in a hurry.

Commentators had a good point earlier about those holes being able to potentially cut the lead down in a hurry.

I'm still not buying Fleetwood this weekend. Straka can fuckin play, though. It will be interesting tomorrow if he can card a couple early playing right in front of BH.

Final group of the day Sami Valimaki is currently +3.

It's raining, dark, the fans are gone and the dude needs a par on 18th to survive...

Hits 3rd shot approach within 2ft... birdie.

AWESOME!!! 💥💥💥💥

He also had a brilliant up and down to save par on #17.

"THE OPEN" weather forecast: Weekend to bring less wind, more rain

BY  BRENTLEY ROMINE   JULY 21, 2023

open23_1920_flag.jpg

As winds whipped Friday at Royal Liverpool, Brian Harman appeared unaffected, shooting 6-under 65 to climb to 10 under and taking a commanding lead at this Open Championship.

But will Mother Nature turn the dial up a notch this weekend and offer Harman a little more to think about as he tries to fend off the competition for his first major title? According to the latest forecast, it actually looks as if she’ll turn it down a little – at least in turns of the fan.

Friday evening’s update forecasts that winds, which reached nearly 20 mph sustained with gusts in the mid-20s, will die down for the final 36 holes. For much of Saturday and Sunday, winds are expected to sustain around the high single-digits with gusts in the mid-teens. Temps will continue to fluctuate in the 60s.

I am actually rooting for the “lefty” Brian Harmon. Dude isn’t even 5’9 and knocks it a ton for a guy his size. He’s been a “journey man” pro for over a decade, so I would be excited for him to see it through to the Claret Jug.

Hook’em!!!
