I feel like Tom Herman was watching Michael Hawkins on Saturday, salivating over trying to turn him into Ehlinger the battering ram 2.0

if he doesn't end up at Wisconsin to re-unite with Fickell, I wonder if BV calls him up.

they used to mock us for rushing the field. “That’s cute, I love that for you.” So sad, they really are mid these days, fuck em.

Yes you are correct, we are mid. How’s little brother doing this year? Oh shit, you boys have lost a whopping 9 games in a row. Did Pat Jones show back up and start running the show? IMG_3907.gif.f2543a6f83010532a6faf5e096d1bc2b.gif

Could see him there. And yeah I meant Arnold, not Hawkins

OU starts their SEC career 2-6 in conference, 6-6 overall, finishing tied for #14 overall in the 16-team conference.

Brent Venables is safe as houses in his coaching seat despite losing 16 games in 3 years with a conference record of 12-14. They have the #13 class in 2025 and they're likely to lose their top dog (Fasusi).

Their path forward, in their minds, is built largely on a sense of entitlement that they will be great because they have been great (which they have!).

Arkansas 6-6

Oklahoma 6-6

Texas A&M 8-4

Texas 11-1

You love to see it.

Not sure what to think of this other than it seems to be a reach.

As WKU co-OC/QB in 2022, he had QB Austin Reed, now a backup w/ the Bears.  Reed ended the season with 4744 passing yards across 14 games and the team had a total of 7000 yards of offense.  There was a notable dropoff in 2023 - Reed remained the QB.
As WSU OC in 2023, he had QB Cam Ward (now at Miami).  Ward had 3700 yards passing and the team had 5000 total yards across 12 games.
As WSU OC in 2024, he had QB John Mateer.  Mateer threw for 3200 yards and the team had 5200 yards across 12 games - and weaker schedule.  There are indications that Mateer will enter the transfer portal.

ESPN reports it is a 3 year contract.

Mateer has entered the portal. So which of Hawkins or Arnold is on the way out?

Prolly Arnold.  There is not one thing Arnold is better at than Mateer.  They'll talk Hawkins into being the underclassman backup.

Arnold is a complete and utter bust.  If he stays, he's taking a pay cut.

Five years from now, he'll be an insurance agent in Denton.
