Why do these fuck sticks think that what they can get away with here translate to other countries?  Maybe spent a few minutes and actually read up on the country you are visiting.

Because they ARE INFLUENCERS AND YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW BIG OF A DEAL THAT IS

Reading that article:

The mom of an influencer potentially facing jail time in Dubai for screaming in public says her daughter is "in panic mode and afraid."

Houston woman Tierra Allen, a driver who runs the popular Sassy Trucker account across various social media platforms, has been stranded in Dubai for two and half months after her passport was confiscated while she was there on vacation. The 29-year-old remains stuck in an Airbnb while police investigate allegations that she raised her voice to a male employee at a car rental company following a dispute.

Just based on the pictures, I'm gonna guess that she was disrespected, and that don't fly nowhere, honeychild.

Screaming and yelling at anyone in a foreign country is a bad idea, especially if you believe you’re being bilked or scammed. That said, I will never understand the mentality in law enforcement and immigration structures in these countries, I don’t for a minute believe the grift outweighs the headache of just getting these fucking people on the next plane out with a reentry ban.

That’s what most normal countries do with tourists that act up and cause low levels of mayhem.

I'll bet she's less sassy at the moment.

Never underestimate how stupid people are, in any arena, but especially about travel abroad.  Back in my apartment living days there was a young lady down the hall who I hung out with on occasion.  She was very good at selling radio air time.  We were drinking one night and she was taking a trip to Thailand and was telling me about all the drugs she was looking forward to taking there.  I advised her against it, noting that many asian countries have severe penalties if you're caught with drugs.  The radio airtime salesperson then went on for some time, explaining to her lawyer friend how US laws followed US citizens around the world like some sort of magic force field.  I tolerated this diatribe because I was just sober enough to appreciate that it was both amusing and also, other reasons.  Luckily she didn't wind up getting life in prison or canned or something, but it was definitely because God watches over stupid people and not any of her own doing.

Influencer building her brand by getting oppressed in foreign country?

Never seen it before...

There's no way these people don't know.  It's fucking deliberate.

The real issue is that anyone might give a flying fuck.

I don't get why people willingly vacation in Dubai.

The influencers love the luxury shops and crazy 5 diamond hotels and skyscrapers. But it’s hotter than Texas and the beaches are really kind of shit and also the locals are a lot more attached to Sharia than they let on.

That was one of my first thoughts as well.  It's like Vegas without the shows, casinos, booze and prostitution.    I mean, at least for the regular visitor.

This is not correct.

Neither is the booze part.  Certain hotels have bars.  A westerner can fairly easily get a drink in Dubai.

When I was working in Kuwait, my wife came over for a week or so.  We were on a plane to Dubai almost as soon as she landed.  I've had better "vacations", but compared to Kuwait it was Vegas.

It’s honestly not bad as a cheap getaway from places that are much worse, flights are usually affordable and they’ve overbuilt the hotels so you can find a room. You can get a drink and a western burger and enjoy some AC and the facsimile of Western consumerism for a bit. And for Muslim families in places like Pakistan and Central Asian and worse Arab states— you can get the halal tour package where you don’t have to see a drink or too much flesh and gawk at the ornate mosques.

And yeah…there’s LOTS of prostitution.

The real problem is in bold above.

Sure, my question remains WTF the Emiratis want to do with her. They have a Sassy Trucker who yells at men, and they don’t like that. The Sassy Trucker doesn’t want to be there anymore.

The solution is staring them in the face, send the Sassy Trucker to IAH to yell at the rental agents there and tell the affronted clerk that she got punished bigly. They have to realize by now that the baksheesh isn’t going to flow.

I’ve been a few times and the only Emiratis I saw actually working were at passport control and the cops since you can’t insource that to Filipino slave labor.

I'm not saying those things don't exist in Dubai.   I'm saying they pale in comparison to Vegas.  Sure, you can get a drink and blowjob.   It's just not as easy.
