not sure why they only went with 7 episodes this season.  especially leaving the season on a semi-cliffhanger.

its like they forced the shit out of the attempted conversion fail, only to then rush directly to black rendition. that could have easily been sussed out for another episode to match the 8 eps the first season had.

and I love Zoe... but this ridic hardass "I gotta be there even if it kills me or destroys my marriage" bullshit is so fucking over the top its comical.

Kind of digging the vibe of the season 2. They’re the most capable operatives in the world and they’re powerless against a problem that doesn’t want to be solved.

Also the Lioness - Cruz sex scene should be terrific.

I think the overall acknowledgement of that was well done. Inconvenient marriages with the devil and such. And making the mission about sending a message rather than achieving anything greatly significant was accounted for. Sheridan gave himself the role of the baddest dude in the whole thing, but hey can't hate. I enjoyed it. Byron might be my favorite character. What an effective bastard.

Ok, so we're going to plan a strike mission that only requires one helicopter and two lesbians. The entire rest of the team, two Delta units, and Taylor Sheridan are only there in case the helicopter crashes.

Gee, I wonder what's going to happen.

Spoiler

also, I think killing characters just to kill characters is tired and a self-own when you've assembled a good cast and characters, so I'm glad that didn't happen here. You've spent a significant amount of time telling us how elite these people are at their jobs. Have them demonstrate it, take their licks, but everyone comes out the other side, if not unscathed.

Can anyone remind me where Cruz crossed paths with the other Delta member that said "no, now you owe me." Was it in Season 1?

Season finale was a shit show.

Why all the theatrics with Cruz when they could have just approached her dad independently and gotten the same result? Shit, why not just approach the cartel brother with the same deal? This storyline was pointless.

What the fuck was that attack in Iran about? Why not just go with the air strike in the first place?

Joe's team looked like chumps compared to the two delta operators lead by Sheridan. lol Fucking Sheridan.

all that build up...

Spoiler

and in the middle of a 300+ v 15ish firefight, where the 300 have multiple still active armored vehicles, we end up with 4 maybe 5 wounds?

a compound broken leg, a thigh shot that manages to miss the femoral, a gutshot that got under the vest but didnt seem to hit anything vital, a shoulder wound, and Zoe's stomach wound that's 5ish days old and doesnt pop after a dead sprint to the rocks  and all the operators survive... even the guys that would be wearing red shirts in Star Trek???

That's A-Team's level of reality TV right there.

Also as someone else asked about the brother....

Spoiler

What the fuck was the point of bringing in the fucking lesbian helo pilot if the  new plan was to have her dad just fucking walk up to his brother's compound and fucking declare I am the new boss while killing his brother and bodyguards with a single fucking pistol????

what the fuck happens if the rest of the guards light up the fucking Americans?  I mean thats not a completely unlikely scenario and Mike November & Dr Claire Lewicki just stand there and what... pray they dont get lit up by cartel bodyguards????

that was poorly written

Spoiler

The guy that took the thigh shot- during triage when they ran down the injuries to the med staff they said arterial and tourniquet.  So he probably applied the tourniquet himself though it wasn’t shown.  But it was sort of addressed.

I understand those operators may go into an op wearing loose tourniquets on each extremity so they can apply them in a couple of seconds, one handed, and stay in the fight or save their own lives until evac.

Still ain’t read thread yet. will eventually.
just finished season 1

gotta say, when the action kicks in… this show 10/10

I thought Season 1 was excellent. Sure, silly at parts. But great action, passable operator lingo/interactions, some serious grey area exploration, good plot buildup.

I may be out after Season 2. Completely disjointed, shit tactics, CR lectures every episode, pointless storylines, with no discernible point to anything.

I think it’s neat that half of our special ops are sexy chicks. They even added the extra army lady there at the end planning the op

She explained her role, she was CIA planning and not an operator, and shes wearing army stuff because any other outfit sticks out like a sore thumb in a small FOB thats under constant surveillance.

and that actress is Dawn Oliveri... she plays Sarah Atwood in Yellowstone and also the Aunt in the Prequel series 1888 that kills herself after her kid dies.

so shes Taylor Sheridan approved to be in this ep as well....

Look this isn't masterpiece theater, but some of things being complained about are explained within the context of the show.

1. He didn't write the original plan to show it was brilliant, he wrote it to show that it was bad and wrote it to fail. Nobody recalls Joe's very many complaints about the op from the beginning? And why bother with Carrillo trying to turn her dad in the first place? Well, in that preferred version, they neutralize him and he is in witness pro. In the second plan that was successful, the CIA now gets to be his accomplice and run interference for him. I can guess which one was the more palatable outcome. It's Sheridan, doing his "nobody is entirely blameless in this ordeal" piece.

2. Why not just attack from distance? They kept hammering the point about needing to show their borders could be crossed  as well. The point about doing this with just a missile was brought up and it was emphasized that  how  the message was sent, was as important as the message itself.

3. The most implausible part is the spontaneous girl on girl theatre that comes out of nowhere.... not drawing much complaints though. Remember that part of the deal with Cruz is that she is supposed to kill Carrillo if deemed necessary.... and all of a sudden she just wants to bang her.... very professional.

as said before the premise of this season is stupid.  trying to make an army pilot into a lionness and then ask her to turn on her own family and infiltrate was stupid.  Where we are now in the story proves it was pointless as its been completely abandoned.  sending a cia special ops team to intercept a human smuggling operation on the border was stupid.   sending a cia special ops team into iran/turkey/iraq/wherever the fuck they were to intercept two chinese nuclear scientists was stupid.  should have just sent an airstrike to begin with, which is what they ended up doing.  i believe they need to hire an extra (or better) military adviser for next season.  Still, those complaints aside, great show.  i could do with less drama from jo and her family.  the husband seems like a weak cuckold and its hard to watch.
