I think it was the now defunct Lone Star Cafe that had fantastic fried mushrooms.  They also had fried broccoli cheese bites. Damn those were good.  Shit that memory made me remember their jingle.

I want a chicken fried steak and a song by Willie, a cold Lone Star and a bowl of good chili, join me bubba for a choice filet, it’s a mighty fine place Lone Star Cafe

Man....a bunch of us should find a place to get together for some cold beer and delightful commestibles like fried mushrooms, cheese fries, etc.  All fried, cold beer, and telling bullshit stories.

Damn I miss this spot.

CFS was legit. Everything fried was good. Smelled like a steak and sat 45.

Cherry Creek Catfish has a pretty delectable menu of fried goodness.

someone above mentioned chili cheese tots or something at Sonic, and it triggered a craving for some Casino El Camino Verde Chili Fries.  couldn't do anything about it yesterday except gather supplies and wait...

so, in celebration of my first colonoscopy, at o'dark:30 this morning, I'm having my version for breakfast.

slammed.  will probably go hard.

I haven't been to Casino in over 10 years. Seeing this picture makes me just taste them again.

Sweetheart those nachos are just fine, you did your best and I am sure they tasted great.

Sometimes you guys can just be...just...just mean.

Among other things already noted, that’s the laziest pico de gallo I’ve ever seen.

That's no pico...

Have you ever heard of melting the cheese?  That is apparently a thing.

I did after I took the pic. Wanted to make sure the cheese was fully pictured first

Purple onions are a nice call. Needs more japs.

They were left overs from earlier in the week. Didn't want them to go to waste. I kinda liked them better than just white onions though. And there are more japs. I usually put them between the chili and the cheese so that I can mix them in better than just putting them on top.

I’ve pivoted on my nachos from doing the pile of chips to getting the upright cylinder bag of toastadas... and my life has improved by at least 2.7x since. And don’t even need a plate.

Judgey-Wudgey: Hey, Steel, what's that?

Steel Shank: Beef rib and egg tacos. Cheese is on the bottom acting as a shelf.

A shelf?  My friend, that’s a goddamned foundation.  A cheese joist.   Wisconsin trailer houses are built on less substantial things.

Let's get our terminology straight.  I thought that the cheese on a taco was the "hinge" rather than the "shelf" -- amirite?

Cheese on a hot dog bun or similar is a “hinge”.   Cheese on anything else is up for grabs, and will improve your regularity.
