Man.....a few weeks ago, I bought a can of Spam.  Sliced about 1/3 inch thick, crisped in a frying pan....ate it as a breakfast side, made a sammich out of it with mustard and american cheese.  Spam.  'Murica.   Fuck yeah.  Well done, dude.

My old man enjoyed cold Spam and velveeta sandwiches with mayonnaise. I never found the appeal; he enjoyed that Spamsnot on his sandwich. My mother would slice it and bake, with a canned pineapple ring atop each slice. Usually served with red taters and green beans.

The last can I bought seemed to have a snout chunk in it.

The sliced and baked with pineapple on top does not sound bad actually….

SPAM is only made with pork shoulder. If you found snout, it was TREAT, not SPAM. Huge difference.

It was very good. It was always a meal when the old man was home. Probably meant he’d get laid after Johnny carson.

Late night naoch. Been a stressful night with all the storms. Luckily nothing was damaged here in McKinney but6d7cb6eea6268a4187cb0056f62af23d.jpg
my friends and family in Taylor weren’t so lucky.

I’ll drink another Busch in their honor tonight.

The Chicken Slammer from Short Stop

Fried chicken tenders on a buttered bun with gravy, shredded cheddar, and jalapeños.

Ate it before I thought to post or take pics, but I'll be eating this once a week. Pics next time

LOL years ago Derka aka @shadow_operative and I posted about this.  It does indeed "slam and go hard".

Short Stop

The owner of the chain bought La Palapa (not las palapas bullshit) at Cameron and 290 a few years ago.

Quality of their menu has increased exponentially since then.

Fried egg and bacon sammich with a spicy chipotle spread. (Three fried eggs are obscuring the second layer of bacon.)

Decent, but I feel as if the lighting reflection in the background is a bit bright. Perhaps us a filter next time.

No paper plate so deal with it. Wife and kid are out of town so fried up some left over shrimp with mushroom garlic and butter. And dry white toast to soak it all up. 20220331_185114.thumb.jpg.342e89d486400c869393c08d4745666f.jpg

I ran my fifth circuit on your mom and it was brief.  But she did not complain.

Nice japs.

I had some crackers myself during the game but of a more savory variety with chicken salad and hot sauce drizzled atop.
