Worked up an appetite this morning chain sawing some firewood out of brush piles.  Had some leftover chili and some corny dogs.  Air fried the corn dogs and went to town. No paper plates so used Maw maws stoneware.

This is the type of Texas resourceful ingenuity that should be celebrated with at least a roadside historical plaque in your front yard.  Fucking brilliance

One point deduction for non-paper plate, but condiments slap hard.  9/10

I don’t know. I think we need a ruling.  It’s not paper but doesn’t look like a plate.  Looks like a container cover or some kind of cookie platter from a gift basket. SA please clarify.

Yeah, next time slum it down with Wolfe chili instead of carne guisada.

If the guisada was leftovers and not purposely made fit that dish I think it’s a more reasonable use of available dish elements. But i don’t make the rules.

It was left over. The previous night we had the CG over rice. Good eating.

Black olives don’t belong anywhere near burritos/enchiladas.

Do you even 1970s-early 80s Taco Bell, bro?

And I say this as someone who fucking hates black olives.  They taste like pointless dirt.  But some people dig 'em, and they are the international symbol for cheap california mex food.

That burrito concoction looks like a homemade Taco Casa chilada plate.  I would eat the hell out of that.

The Taco Casa one is basically the same as the late 80's early 90's Taco Bell. And was exactly what I was going for.

I think someone did the same burrito concoction with Allsups fried magic in a tortilla.  GD genius.

Honestly, thought about deep frying the burritos then just pouring the red sauce/cheese over them and broiling until the cheese melts.

But they were frozen. Next time, I'll plan ahead and thaw them first.

Tamales, HEB chili, fried eggs, sharp cheddar on a plastic RV plate.5d221f5676e345aa282e05c827baa1b5.jpg

I literally did this last night for dinner, except I did not include the fried egg, mostly because I have no eggs right now.  Now I feel ashamed of myself.  I think I will be making a quick trip to HEB (assuming it is open) and getting some eggs.

Get the jumbo eggs.

They're bigger.

That's what I do.

And other pros.

As if guided by the divine wisdom of his holiness @Steel Shank, I did purchase a dozen jumbo eggs at my local HEB last night (by the divine grace of God @Steel Shank, it was open).  Tonight I shall feast on leftover Mi Tienda pork tamales covered in HEB chili from a can, pre-shredded Mexican style HEB natural cheese, and some HEB hot sliced jalapenos, all of which will be topped with at least one fried egg.  Maybe two fried eggs.
