Been there, bro.  Sometimes you're lucky, and you saved some leftover parmesan packs from that pizza order back in 2018, so you can sprinkle those on your meal for flavor.

I still have several packets of Church's spicy sprinkle that have to be pushing 7-8 yrs old I use every so often.

Home alone tonight so I made do. Had a bit of chili left over. Mixed in some refried beans. Put on some tortillas from Mi Tradicion. Found an old Low Key Loki from Batch Brewing in the back of the beverage fridge. It’s been a good night so far.

I was visiting my 80 yo mother, she eats like a bird, was lucky to have tortillas and ham.

Have I made several of this sort of thing, wrapped them in a piece of saran or foil, and shoved it in the pocket of my game vest for a snack while dove hunting?  Oh yes indeed.

While it is a finominole use of available material, a dill pickle spear in the middle would take it to the next level.

I can loan you a few bucks next time so you can grab a McRib and not eat your elderly mother’s food. Poor lady.

My truck crapped out in Brady yesterday. Left it there to get fixed (and it was, hallelujah). Had to get shuttled back to town to pick it up, then gassed up, and discovered that the Yes! mart has a new snack affiliate…

A pleasant selection to make the drive back to the ranch happy. They also had fried gizzards. I may get those for the drive home tomorrow.

It’s like an aerosol cheese napoleon. The tuxedo shirt ruffle flourish adds incredible sophistication. Those Ritz puffy cracker things are addictive and superior to the more mundane original. I expect a Smirnoff Ice Green Apple as the perfect accompaniment.

Needed snacks on the drive back from deer hunting: gizzards, and some sort of fried Buffalo chicken cheese things (sometimes, you need to roll the dice at the gas station food warmer)…

Gizzards were great. Buffalo things were meh.

But that only applies if they don't have fried chicken livers equally available.  YMMV.

Also, the mixed innards boat -- livers and gizzards (and man, if anyplace did fried chicken hearts, I would pronounce the proprietor king of the whole earth) -- with gravy for dipping is a perfect choice.

While I think we can all debate the ins and outs of caloric ecstasy.  But I think we can all (perhaps) agree on one thing.

ixnay on the izzardsgay. They make my teeth hurt or I would eat them often. Livers and hearts, on the other hand, are a regular part of my lunches. Our local IGA deli does hearts occasionally and will call me when they do.
