Arch Manning Being "Arch"

in the little bit that we saw Arch I was very excited by how poised he was in the pocket.......I was very excited by his ability to scramble and run, though I hope having him run more frequently is not a major part of the offense and more of a "he can do it when something breaks down" part of the offense

I hate to say his ball security makes me nervous....the ball seemed to come loose at the end of a lot of his bigger gain plays and I am not excited by that.....that is going to require a lot of focusnessness from the coaching staff

I still stand by the thought that when Arch ran for a 1st vs OSU and TV reviewed if he “fumbled,” they should’ve used the same replay for Targeting. He got hit helmet to helmet, behind his ear hole. When he got up, he staggered and looked punch drunk instead of celebrating making a 1st down.

Arch never stepped on the field after that play and frankly (IMO) why he wasn’t used at the goal line with the game to win. Never got brought up in the post-game PCs, but that’s my belief.

I’d rather watch the Wayans brothers do a college last name skit while we’re at it.

Or the one with A-Aron, where are you?

Hook’em!!!

Key and Peel. That was a little over a decade ago, the Wayans brothers were 30 years ago.

Yeah, 25 people liked my post, so it was shit. Great point, genius. You said "I don't run around spending pages dragging down ANY player" and I simply quoted 27 of the hundreds of times you've dragged Worthy. I hope you defend Arch half as much as you've done with Quinn.

Find my hundreds.

He will be one of the first to show up the moment Arch throws an incompletion.

many of you will be surprised at how our offense looks with Arch

You are also one of the jackasses on that thread. Arch already threw incompletions. He also threw interceptions, got sacked, and fumbled. I've been here the whole time. Just like I have been for all of our QBs dating back decades. Or any player. I have defended many players not just Quinn. Back when Diaz was the coach I was the main one saying it wasn't the players it was the scheme much to the laughter of posters like you. Until Robinson came in and had the defense fixed in about 10 minutes with the exact same players.  Then all the sudden posters like you got very quiet.

Arch is going to be a good player, but the offense will still have shortcomings. They may be different shortcomings, but shortcomings nonetheless. When that happens bring the same energy you did this season. Blame him for every failure on offense and then start talking about how you don't think he is draftable.

I didn’t get quiet.  I complimented Quinn when warranted and criticized him too.  Posting his qb rating isn’t criticism btw.

anyways, root for the name on the front fella.  It’s more enjoyable when you root for the entire team not just your favorite player

You literally have 6 search pages containing "Worthy", much of which is jabs and backhanded compliments, then you have a ton more where you refer to him as X or don't use his name in the comment. Going from "I don't spend pages dragging down any player" to "haha, I've only dragged Worthy 198 times, not hundreds!" isn't the win you're looking for. You've dragged a ton of players in your undying love to Quinn, so for you to act like you're so high and mighty about treating the players well online is fucking hilarious.

Obviously the Ohio State game will be extremely challenging, particularly as the opener for the season. Would love to have a warm-up game.

But one real advantage that could come to fruition is Sark having an offensive gameplan that the Buckeyes won't be prepared for at all. Different formations and routes and designs with Arch that didn't show up in this past Cotton Bowl. If we execute, I can see us putting up some points.

Having an entire offseason to prepare for that one game - and knowing the next 3 games are at home vs. pretty shitty competition - allows Sark to throw everything at the Ohio State defense. Can't wait.

I don’t expect the Ohio state game to be easy but don’t they lose everyone good minus smith and downs? Reminds me of the Michigan game this season. I know we lose a lot as well but don’t they lose way more?

Who is their qb gonna be?

Exactly this - is it a game we could lose breaking in new starters ,of course. They lose a ton also ,more so than us. Home field is the only reason I have us maybe losing if that. It’s a tough opener for both teams because of roster change. I know we’ll have the better qb tho unless they moneywhip for a good one in the spring. I’m expecting to win anyway cause that’s what we do   Hook em

It’s a great opener for this team. They are extremely young and this will be a game that will exploit weaknesses and cement strengths. This isn’t a game where you lose and the playoffs are unlikely..

Going to be fun to see how different the offense is for this one. The deep ball will be back. OL is going to benefit from a QB that can hold the backside DE from crashing on runs. Wonder if Texas runs more RPO with Arch. Thought I saw RPO was a touch under 20% of the passing game this year. Texas was heavy play action team.

Hopefully, Texas upgrades on that area. I know it’s odd to expect less turnovers from a 1st year starter than a 3rd year starter, but Ewers was a turnover machine this year with 17

They'll probably get beck and kick the can a year, beating out Miami by $3.50.
