Favorite player Josh Allen is a great answer.

This gruntles me.

Of course, it also means we may see Owens sooner than we want to... I'm hoping for mop-up duty, early and often.

Arch will be the first Heisman winner to sit the entire 4th Q of every game because we ain’t losing any of them

I'm gonna say it. Y'all might not like it.

This gives off Burrow swag.

There you go.

I was thinking along the lines of over-doing the Josh Allen stuff and winding up dinged...

But, man I hope Sark doesn't hesitate to sub in Trey when we do pile it on. I've always advocated getting PT for backups as quickly as you get comfortable with the score.

when marty asked him what it felt like to sne the starter at Texas when quinn went down, i noticed that arch remained totally stone faced. it’s a small detail, but it says a lot to me. most guys can’t help but crack a smile when an interviewer asks them what it felt like to be the starting qb for Texas, but Arch did not emote one iota. he’s not your typical young guy who gets butterflies just thinking about living his dream. he knows that this is simply the very beginning of what should be a long and prosperous journey. he’s totally ready. he was made for this.

This is a lot of Derka word-vomit. I'll help translate for the board.

What Derka meant is "We about to fuck"

What's not to like? If you're good and you know it, let it show. Call it "confidence" - it doesn't have to be quiet.

Good to see a QB here not be socially awkward in interviews

How could anyone not be a fan of this young man?  Physical ability aside, his mind and attitude are going to make him elite.  I've evaluated elite people for elite things and you see a wide range of mental makeup.  Even among studs, you rarely see it at this level.

Looks like Arch is on a mini press run after his partnership with Red Bull. Here's a more lighthearted interview.

That's the most I've ever heard from him from a single sitting. He seems so incredibly down to earth and humble, yet confident at the same time.

Amazing that he's flown under the radar all these years. People will be shocked - this kid's going places.

Interviewer: “What comes with your last name that we can’t understand because we don’t have it?”

Arch: “I think a lot of undeserved attention. But hopefully it gets more deserving in the next few months.”

Nice graphic...

I didn’t watch more than a bit of that interview. It was not well done by the interviewer but, did he actually respond that way? If so, that’s a great answer. I will probably watch it, eventually.

This is going to be totally insane by the time we get to <checks notes> August 30. If tOSU is crippled enough from graduation, NFL draft, and coaching changes, it could very well be a repeat of 2024 Meatchicken, and the couch-burners will weep and wail about that... god forbid we go up there and lose. However, if we do win, the rest of the country will be ramping up the Heisman talk.

Having a super nice, straight-shooting HC and QB will go a long way toward quelling the usual Texas Hate.

Texas Hate is a permanent thing.  Embrace it.

I do more than embrace it, I find it glorious to have a rent-free dwelling place in the heads of so many americans.

On the other hand, the greater world has very little hate for us... although they have a tendency to identify John Wayne as a Texan.

Overall, you're right, though. It's beyond glorious, it's embraceable.

Lucky for him, he's getting 32 starts in 2 years

12 regular season x2
SEC champ game x2
3 CFP games x2

B2B national champs.  Arch effect.

yeah, I was more or less rejecting out to half court the notion that Arch and the Mannings operate in the same manner as what is typical of modern day college football players.

Let's go down the list:

1. The kid literally refused to accept college offers when they were given to him. There's a story of Ed Orgeron offering him when he was a high school freshman or sophomore and Arch responding with "I'm sorry, sir I'm not accepting any offers"

2. Didnt't go to any of the typical rivals, 247, under armor, or elite 11 camps

3. First tweet was to announce his commitment to UT and has barely tweeted since.

4. Didnt accept NIL to start off his career.

The list goes on and on. So all the people who traffic in the internet fodder about him or who predicted that he would transfer or leave after 1 year of playing haven't been paying attention and are totally off the mark. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he stayed 3 years, but one thing's for certain there's a much greater chance of him staying 3 than there is of him leaving after 1 year of starting.

I have friends that aren't Texas fans that are rooting for us now that Arch is QB1.

Although there is obviously a lot of viewership crossover with CFB and NFL, there is also a large audience of NFL fans that don’t watch CFB at all. From the musings  I’ve gathered online, many of those NFL lifelongs are going to be tuning in to our games next season because of the Manning name and what the Manning’s have represented in the NFL over 3 generations

I’m not sure where his guidance comes from, but looking at his choices this far, he’s taking the old school “pay your dues and earn it/prove it” route, and not letting anyone hand him anything.

Regardless of outcome, mad respect for how he’s handled things so far.
