Auburn knocked off LSU 67-62. Former Texas assistant Johnnie Harris is Auburn’s head coach. Always nice to see the Bayou witch take a tumble.

Go Johnnie! Vic would be so proud

This KU team beat Baylor by how much again? lol

The Big 12 race is going to be wild

If Texas still finds a way to share a Big 12 title, the rest of the Big 12 teams should be embarrassed.

Last year Texas won a share of a Big 12 title essentially down 2 starters most of Big 12 play (Moore and Morris) and it looks like the same is going to be true this year down (Harmon and Gaston).

We were #2 in NET prior to tonight. We are still very much in the mix for a very high seed.

Still #2 in NET.  It's helping that:

a) we keep blowing people out and our 2 losses are by 3 and 6 points

b) our best non-conf win is a top 4 NET team (UConn is #4) and we have another top 50 non-conf win (#43 Arizona)

c) our two losses are both top 10 NET team (#8 KSU and #10 Baylor)

d) The Big 12 is a strong conference by NET - half the teams are in the top 50 and 13/14 are in the top 100

Big 12 NET rankings:
#2 Texas
#8 KSU
#10 Baylor
#27 WV
#38 TCU
#39 ISU
#48 KU
#56 OU
#62 OSU
#69 Texas Tech
#93 UH
#95 BYU
#99 UCF
#103 Cincinnati

That sucks.

It does, but also there are 14 girls on their roster. I don’t buy that 10 of them are injured. Even if they have 7 healthy bodies, it’s not uncommon for only 7 Texas players to see the floor in a game. They most likely have the bodies to play, but not enough healthy scholarship players, and they don’t want to get embarrassed

Yeah I don't buy it.

Prince has a broken finger. Jaden Owens tore her ACL.  That's only 2.

TCU is now 1-6
ISU and KSU both pick up a win and are 6-0

Its cowardly. Either their healthy players or coaches simply don’t have pride. If they weren’t playing back to back top 25 opponents, I bet they don’t forfeit

Schaefer concerning Gaston yesterday:

"She saw a specialist yesterday and obviously not near as bad as the last time, I mean, she’s already walking on it. The first time she was on crutches the first two or three weeks, before she could even start walking.  She feels like it’s not near as bad as the first time, I think the doctor is cautiously optimistic, but being a good doctor, he’s being careful with her but, she’s chomping at the bit, to try and get back, and you love that about her, you love that about any athlete. So, I think we’ll get through the week and give that thing a chance to calm down, and kind of see where we are next week, and kind of go from there. I think it’s fair to say she’s out this weekend, it’ll be a constant thing of reevaluating.  I don’t think it’s fair to give you a time frame, because I think the kid’s got her own time frame in her head. I think if she can do it, I think the doctor’s open to whatever she feels comfortable with."

Sounds like good news to me.

4 weeks? Woof. They have KU, Baylor, OU this month and then Texas and ISU the first half of February. Here’s hoping they start picking up some losses in league play
