Kansas just upset KSU. Texas now controls their own destiny to no worse than a #2 seed in the Big12 tournament.

OU goes to KU on March 2nd as well

Chavez going to tech isn’t going to magically make tech better because they won’t have the pieces around her.  Unless she just wants to the be hometown hero, she’d waste her career at tech.

Tech hasn't been to the tournament since 2013. Might be a factor in the decision making process.....

really is incredible what Vic has done after losing Rory and also how great Booker is.  being top 5 is a helluva a job.

The contrast between the men's and women's programs is shocking and telling. And hopefully a motivational wake-up call for the administration.

Vic is the man and Madi is the truth.

She is the truth. Good thing the WNBA doesn’t have a G league

The WNBA itself isn’t a threat to take talent away early from WCBB. Russia used to be a place to make 6 figures but American players aren’t risking that anymore after Griner. One of the best aspects of WCBB is not constantly worrying every offseason that your star player is leaving early to go pro. Unless they hate school or get poor advice, the best players will stay all 4 years.

Yes.  Maybe not the best for the young ladies, but for us fans that is a huge win.

Texas is a 2-0 week and an OU 0-2 week (to Texas and at KU) of winning the Big 12 outright. Wednesday first. Then we finish the season against Shaylee’s original school

Chavez would definitely make Tech a tournament team. She's probably the best scorer to come out of high school in 2 decades. But we're just arguing in circles and I do agree she probably won't pick Tech.

As we head into the home stretch of the regular season, important games:

  • For Big 12 conf championship implications:
    • Texas @ OU
    • OU @ KU
  • For NCAAT seeding implications:
    • VT @ ND
    • Syracuse @ NCST
    • USC @ AZ
    • Stanford @ ORST
    • Stanford @ Oregon
    • UCLA @ AZ
    • Ohio State @ Iowa

I think Texas has locked up a 2 seed regardless of Wednesday's results and a win in Norman gets us a step closer to that 1 seed line.  It seem a lot of people think it will be SC, Stanford, B1G winner (Iowa or Ohio State) and then Texas/UCLA/B1G runner up. I *think* Texas as Big 12 champ would get the nod.  it would be very good for the sport that the 4 #1 seeds would be the winners of the SEC, Pac 12, B1G and Big 12.  The ACC took themselves out with NCST fucking up recently.

The Longhorns rank third in the NCAA in margin of victory on the season at +25.0

Kind of wild that Creme doesn't even have Texas as the Big 12 AQ (OU) but still a 1 seed.

Big 12 teams in the bracket:
1 Texas
4 KSU
5 Baylor
6 OU
7 WV (their loss to OKST last night may drop them)
11 ISU
11 KU (first four)

aggy is also projected as an 11 seed in the first four.

Holle, Jones and Gaston returning I guess. That puts us 1 over the limit, so probably Graves back to walk-on status, someone moves to NIL or a portal out

With Gonzales leaving and Rori returning from a significant injury, my bet is they will also be looking for a guard in the portal. There's almost certainly going to be attrition.

Codio and/or Herron are my guesses (I think Herron can transfer again bc she redshirted and didn’t play at UK). Maybe Jak. Could potentially see Gaston head elsewhere for her final year, but hope not. Graves will likely lose her scholly to help accommodate a transfer guard

The one thing we needed to improve on most from the last time we lost to OU was preventing the fast break. We did a great job of that in the first quarter.

Also forcing turnovers. Forced 6 so far. Only forced 9 in Austin
