Wulaw is always right.

Occasionally I get one right mostly by accident.
The should I hit the all star level bat that’s great at throwing out runners v the worst post season hitter ever that also is shitty at defense wasn’t a hard one though at least I didn’t think it should be.

I've been having to watch the TBS (NL) games on the Spanish broadcast because Fubo doesn't carry the Turner networks.  It has been better than having Smoltz lecture me for a solid 150 minutes.

I might have to try that. And yeah, 'lecture' is the perfect word for what he does. It's like "Hey, I played baseball, so I'm gonna educate all you noobs". Every second doesn't need to be 'Baseball 101', esp for a whole lotta fans who actually do know the game.

For those of you on twitter ... maybe a few sternly worded tweets to @MLBONFOX and @MLB would help. Who knows.

I just saw an article on Bad Broadcasting where Smoltz's response to criticism was basically what you'd think it would be. You know ... 'Yeah, well, they didn't play the game' kinda stuff.

Quote

Those people who claim that they have a lot of answers or know things? They never played the game.”

“When I do a game, I’m doing a game bringing the insights that most people wouldn’t know because I played the game,” Smoltz continued. “And anybody who can pull stuff out of a computer, there’s value there, but they don’t understand the insights. They don’t understand the feel, they don’t understand what goes on between the lines. But all that other noise, I don’t pay attention to it. And yeah, people try to tell me, and I say that’s fine. Unless my bosses think differently, I’m good with it.”

Huge W. The Astros probably thought they were in for an easy sweep with 4 blowouts like all their fans did. This has to be a shock to their system.

Think most of us realized it would be much harder to put away the Rangers than it was to sweep that pathetic team we played last year in the ALCS...who were they again???

LOL I mean Helo makes blanket false statements and is an absolute curse upon his favorite team as a jinx but at least he isn't one of the butt-hurt bitches who whine and cry to Blacklab & imamac about everything like the Karens that they are.

Originally I predicted the series would go 6 and I'm going to stick to that.  I wish Dusty wouldn't keep the black hole in the lineup but here we are...  At least we have Brantley today.

Not one close call has gone the rangers way all series. Total fucking bullshit.

First Astros batter up in the bottom of the 3rd gets a called “Ball 3” when the the ball was completely inside the strike zone, but the pitcher “Missed his target.”

🙄

Rangers are playing some damn good baseball. I’ll talk fun stupid shit in the hate thread but for here it’s just good clean baseball talk. Rangers are red hot at the perfect time.

Quality pitching and D has been a really nice surprise this postseason. But at this point, Houston has seen the reliable pitching Rangers can throw at them (including same BP arms 2X).  Rangers bats are going to have to have a couple of big games to take the series IMO.  I'm not sure 5 runs wins another game for the Rangers.

Who knows, one thing I’ve come accustom to over the last 7 years is I can’t predict shit when it comes to baseball games much less the full series. Right now everything points to the rangers getting the bloop hits and big homer runs and big pitching and Astros are hitting everything right to guys and not able to breakthrough when it’s necessary. I mean it’s not like we’ve never lost before and when we have it’s like this. Maybe we come back? But probably not. Rangers having guys step up especially on the mound is what you need to win a title.

Even the back to back WS teams never played at this level. Not just starting 7-0 but only trailing for one single inning. And all of this after they blew the division to Houston in the last weekend like they did in 2012 to Oakland. Except they never looked back this year unlike 2012. Where that derailed them and the whole season went down the drain.

I still fear Houston because we have seen this over and over. You let up just a little and think you got them on the ropes and they come back on you. Down 1-0 and 2-1 to Philly last year. And roared back and Philly had no answer. I know they didn't win it but down 0-3 to Tampa in 2020 and took it to game 7.

Love seeing Max come back, too for game 3 but makes me nervous at the same time. How long can he go? How effective will he be? If he gets in trouble early, can he battle back? I also fear he can re-aggravate that injury at any time.

Yesterday was what I have missed for years. Playoff baseball that has you on the edge of your seat, pacing around and yelling at big moments. That was as on edge and nervous as I've been in forever and loved every second of it. Nothing like playoff baseball in those moments. Not the biggest hockey fan but playoff hockey is the same. Ramps way up in playoffs and fun as hell even as a casual fan.
