After resigning from Deion Sanders staff at Colorado earlier this week, sources tell FootballScoop that Tim Brewster is expected to land a new coaching opportunity.

Over the ensuing last few days the 63-year old college coaching veteran Tim Brewster weighed a few different options to stay in coaching, and sources share that he has decided to join the staff in Charlotte with Biff Poggi.

From recruiting the most perfect offensive weapon who ever lived to coaching with this guy.

Now, as for the 49ers:

All of this nonsense is a feature of Charlotte banking money feeling desperately insecure about their gleaming Atlanta v2.0 being a bland, featureless midmajor city with no cultural draw to speak of.

So true; Charlotte is the definition of ‘soulless’. I’d seriously live in Cleveland before Charlotte…

Brewster and Poggi seem like an awesome duo. I bet they will fucking crush it with some of the grandmothers on the recruiting trail.

Sources: Sal Sunseri top target to join Biff Poggi's Charlotte staff

Well-traveled assistant coach spent the 2023 season on Deion Sanders's Colorado staff

JOHN BRICE   3 HOURS AGO

Sal Sunseri, a former Pittsburgh All-America linebacker and well-traveled assistant coach in both the collegiate and NFL ranks, is expected to be on the move from Deion Sanders and Coach Prime's Colorado Buffaloes staff.

Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Sunseri is a top target to join Biff Poggi's Charlotte 49ers staff.

Poggi, the first-time collegiate head coach, just wrapped up a 3-9 debut campaign atop the Charlotte program, where he replaced Will Healy after he previously had served in an off-the-field role for Jim Harbaugh and Michigan.

Sunseri has coached in parts of five decades and for some of the top coaches and programs in football.

Most prominently, Sunseri won four national titles as an assistant coach: three under Nick Saban in two separate stints at Alabama and one with Jimbo Fisher at Florida State.

Sunseri also served as defensive coordinator at Illinois State, Alabama A&M and in 2012 at the University of Tennessee, where Sunseri was fired alongside Derek Dooley at season's end.

As part of Deion Sanders's first Colorado staff, where Sunseri reunited with Charles Kelly, he helped coach the Buffaloes' defensive line -- specifically working with their defensive tackles.

Additional college stops include LSU and Michigan State, among others, and he also worked in the NFL with both the Carolina Panthers and then-Oakland Raiders.

Charlotte already this offseason has lost at least two assistant coaches from Poggi's inaugural staff; Kyle DeVan left the 49ers from his role as offensive line coach and running game coordinator to return to his alma mater, Oregon State, while Thursday, FootballScoop first reported Rod Ojong exited to take a position coaching in the secondary at Indiana University under new Hoosiers head coach Curt Cignetti.

Biff Poggi never disappoints. He must have had them rattling heads and bodies from the jump.

They open against James Madison and go to UNC in week 2. They'll probably start 0-2 and at that point I expect Biff to really step it up a notch and just start walking around shirtless in order to let everyone know that he's all business, all the time.

JMU  -8.5 seems like free money in light of the above. Prove me wrong.

You've got to believe in a team returning 6 starters total being coached by a dude whose most recent HC experience is at the mighty Holy Cross, home of Gordie Lockbaum. Maybe don't put your mortgage money on them and dial it down a little.

I just looked that guy up and he's won everywhere he's been.  I may have to get down on JMU and bet against Biff the Fat Bastard.
