I honestly think FSU needs a blowout win tonight to get in. I think the Alabama win hurt them more than anyone.

This could be right.

I can't imagine the committee leaving a 13-0 FSU team out, but their SoS will still be the softest even if they throttle Louisville tonight.

And I have a hard time imagining the committee leaving out a 12-1 SEC champ who just dethroned the two-time defending champ.

But, how do you take those two and leave Texas out when we beat one of them by 10 and have the strongest SoS?

I mean, Christ, even the committee has to be pulling for Lousiville tonight to get them off the hook.  But if FSU wins, maybe the safest thing for the committee to do is say, "Look, we put the champs of the four best conferences in.  Sorry, FSU, but you didn't schedule a big OOC game like Texas/Bama, Ohio St/ND, etc, and you could have."

Using the word “logic” and “committee” in the same sentence is where a lot of y’all go wrong… these are the same fuckers that cited a QBs completion percentage when justifying a team ranking.

I'm honestly confused at your stupidity. Do you think 1 person at ESPN runs the committee or something?

He’s clearly just trolling and finding willing victims

Hah? They kicked the shit out of LSU.

The issue is their dogshit conference.

They played LSU

Dude on ABC made a great point. Said that our loss to OU was similar to Bama nearly losing to Auburn. We just wound up on different sides of the scoreline.

Our loss to OU should improve too.

SMU winning today gives OU another very good win. They may jump in the top 10 now above Ole Miss and Penn State. It may now be a "top 10 loss".

The Bama win is proving so fucking massive. You literally just cannot ignore it. Can't.

Most important early season OOC win I can remember. Just to be clear all of CFB not just Texas

I hope someone takes their speed and goes through this thread and the 11-1 thread and notes all the incredibly stupid vaginas who kept arguing with total condescension that one loss Bama and one loss Georgia would get in over us because "SEC." Fucking tools.

Urban Meyer just now called it the most impressive win in all of CFB this year.

Hats off to Sark and all that, but really thanks to whoever scheduled that game 10 years ago.

This is pretty exciting shit.  Texas decided to put the hammer down at just the right time.  A very good team or two is gonna feel like they got fucked.  Hope it’s not us.

That and OU is just a tad better than Auburn.

Yep, if that win had been against any other team other (except washington or michigan) we'd likely be out with an FSU win

This day couldn't be going any better.

1) Blowout win for Texas.

2) Close win for Bama changed the math from 1 SEC lock to potentially 0 SEC locks.

3) SMU beating Tulane could also help us with our loss. The OU loss could potentially now be a "top 10 loss" with them adding another very quality win.

Ohio State in '05 ring a bell?

Texas was undefeated though, it mattered but the undefeated was the key part

Bama and Texas both have one losses so head to head is godly

The committee had every opportunity to slide Bama ahead of Texas after we had close wins and they beat LSU and blew out Kentucky and others. They left us ahead for a reason if anybody gets left out it's them or FSU.

Michigan and FSU both losing would really create chaos for the committee

I don't think it would.

Washington, Texas, Alabama, and Georgia in some order. It would probably be close between Michigan and Georgia for the last spot.

Much more manageable chaos compared to an FSU win (where there is a strong argument that every champ should be in)

Mr. Mack would like to chime in....

Don't know who that is, but it's nice to see that as a society we let people with severe brain damage have a voice in the national conversation.

Funny thing is they actually did, but LSU ended up being not very good
