This is the time of year we put up a thread like this, so let's get started. What movies, or series, do you like during this time of year, that possibly aren't your typical Christmas theme movies but maybe happen during the Christmas time of year?

- Young Sherlock Holmes

- Sneakers

- Three Days of the Condor

- The Apartment

- The Public

- Nobody's Fool (Paul Newman)

- Die Hard

I think we watched these more because they were cold, but we always watched them around the holidays.

The Shining producer: Why the ending really changed

Show this one to the kids when they ask to go to Colorado or somewhere snowy in the winter, and it'll break them of that desire real fast.

Harry Potter

Chronic-cles of Narnia

Lord of the Rings trilogy

Game of Thrones (winter is coming)

Basically anything with fires roaring in the hearth, tankards of mead and ale, red wine flowing, feasts on the tables, etc.

Die Hard is a Christmas movie. Die Hard 2 is absolutely not a Christmas movie but set during Christmas time. It may be one of the most absurd movies ever put to film. I watch both each year.

Lethal Weapon was a great addition.

Godfather I & II.

Same. They feel like Christmas movies to me, probably because Don Corleone was Christmas shopping when he got shot. That one scene is enough for me to make it a holiday tradition.

Violent Night it’s a lot of fun.

This is a Christmas movie. It’s the redemptive story of Santa fulfilling a child’s wish to bring peace to their family. Santa dutifully secures peace in their household and everything works out for the family in the end. Just a real old-fashioned Christmas tale that everyone can relate to.

Just watched it with my ole lady.  Her first time, my 2nd time in 3 days.

Count her as a fan.

Yep, this is now firmly in the rotation with our kids, one movie a day.
My fiancee is a huge Harry Potter fan. She read all the books back in the day before the movies. I watched them all with her 3 years ago. I ended up enjoying it. Those aren't my type of movies. I'll most likely never watch them again but they weren't bad at all.

From the time I was in junior high until I graduated, my dad, brother, and I would watch this on Christmas Eve, after church.

So, 5 years?

Watched it yesterday.  Son-in-Law is also a Thanksgiving movie.  Bring on the hate.

I enjoy the entire Pauly shore filmography, but son in law is probably the best
